    Increasing elbow pains from benching

I am currently using dbol and fina.My bench has went up 30 #in the last month. My elbows are getting sore and can hear them crack when i extend them.I think its my tendons or ligaments from the sudden strength increase.Whats the best thing to do about this?

Rest and ice them. Not put too much strain on them.

funny you posted that, I just got back from the gym and a guy that works there was telling me how his elbow's are killing him. Tendenitous!, from benching and working forearms. It's a combination of both excercises and using alot of forearms in your bench. And definately ice and rest will help.

So its not from the gear huh?.i figured it was the sudden increase in power that my tendons wernt quite ready for.

With the increased weight you're obviously puting more stress on the elbow and tendens in the elbow. So yes it its due to the added weight your benching, and not directly caused by the gear.

Try getting a good piar of elbow support sleeves. You can order them from www.elitefts.com look under accessories then straps and wraps.

Also, you have to keep in mind that tendons and ligaments do not grow in proportion to you muscle and strenght gains. You are simply overtaxing them and they arent up too speed with the rest of your body.

I noticed my entire left arm was going numb. I have bad pain in my forearms. I just got some of those neoprene type elbow sleeves and it disapeared. You need the extra support now. Man, dont mess around with this shit. Get those supports and warm up thoroughly. You dont want to smash your strength plateau and really kick ass this cycle and then have to take a year off of heavy lifting cuz you didnt take some precautions. Good luck

Sorry dude, the gear appears to be the proximate cause of his pain here. Gear makes muscles grow nice and quick but does not act so on Tendons, at least this is how my doctor and athletic therapist put it.

Tendons take time and repetition to get stronger. I'd say our friend needs to train a little lighter, hit some higher reps until his pain goes away and then gradually increase the weight to something that doesn't cause pain in his elbows.

Either that or risk a worse injury.

Yes, I agree that the gear is making the muscle grow quicker and that the tendons are not affected when it comes to growth, obviously, I'm looking at it differently as in the gear isn't making the tendons sore or drying out the joints, but with the increased strength and muscle growth the tendons haven't adjusted to nor have they adjusted to the new weight. I agree:

I'd say our friend needs to train a little lighter, hit some higher reps until his pain goes away and then gradually increase the weight to something that doesn't cause pain in his elbows.

I had the same problem...I bought a elbowsleeve from my local drug store and took a couple of anti inflamatories. Two weeks later with a little deca added and bingo back to normal.I also avoided any workout that put added stress on them. Its been two months and still no probs.
