    Super Slow Resistance Training

Just wanted to see if anybody is familiar with this (possibly outdated) style of training, and moreover, if anybody has or is currently utilizing it.

I remember years ago, my father being really into this. He eventually moved on to HIT, but I recall him going on and on about super slow. I'm not thinking about using it (now), but just wanted to see what you guys thought. Good read here:

Hey gbrice. ya know this is what I've had to put into my workout since I came back and can only temporarily lift very light. I do mega reps I include fast with slow. When I doing those monster reps , as I feel fatigued I slow it down. No matter where I am basically with the reps I quickly get burned when I go slow. Slow with positive and negative, squeeze at the top. It will also let you get to use your mind. Mind and muscle connection. ...crazy mike

I did try it once many years ago it was the fashion in the gyms in those days and I still see the odd person doing it now but it wasn't for me I didn't like it,

I do try and slow things down on the negative side of the lift but I am more of an explode with control on the positive side kind of person

It's basically time under tension training.....

I will do some digging, I know there is an Eric helms video out there on this....

My view is similar to his, we need enough TUT to grow but we don't need more than enough.... Meaning maybe more isn't always better....

So as ong as your negatives are well controlled there 'may' not be a load more benefit to making them 'super slow'
    Don't be a 'Bro'..... Believe nothing....Question everything

I like to go slow ish on my negatives (about 4-5 seconds) then I explode on the positive (Dorian Yates style)

Yes sounded like TUT training to me. Yes it can be used to grow. If you can go heavy weight while doing TUT training your not doing it correctly.
