    Best Strength Routine

a buddy of mine has asked me for some advice on strength training, his goals are simply pure strength gains, all i have ever trained for is hypertrophy so couldn't help him, was wondering if any of you would share what strength routines worked for you whether it was 5x5 or 5-3-1 or anything different would be interested to know. The gym where he trains doesn't have a squat rack but has everything else he will need, He will be training 3/4 x a week. Appreciate any replies, thankyou

I did 5x5 from Jan-Mar. Does work great if you wanna be a powerlifter. I gained some muscle and lost a lot of fat! I started with an empty 45 pound Olympic bar, and increased the weight by 5 pounds every sucessful workout! I had to discontinue cause 5x5 has you workout only 3 times a week. Cause I'm in the Endomorph class, I always gotta be on the move to keep my metabolism going so I workout Monday-Friday. Just another joy and experience in the world of exercising is finding a plan that works! Took me 10 years to figure my plan out lol!
