Pausing for a second at the top of shrugs?
When you guys do barbell shrugs, do you hold it for a second at the top and than go down, or do you just go up and down in one motion?
In Arnolds Bodybuilding Encyclopedia, he says to hold it at the top for a second.
Is there any benefit to doing it that way? Will doing it in one motion work just as effective?

It would seem like it would allow for more bloodflow into the muscles. It's like flexing your bicep or tricep.
Anyways, I pause for a second or two.

definitely, i try to hold the squeeze on everything, people look at me funny when i do lateral raises with 25's and say it's heavy, but you try to hold at the top on every rep!!!

I don't know. If Arnold said to do it I would be wary. It's not like he was a successful bodybuilder or anything. Just kidding. Yeah, holding the rep really gives you a good burn.
