Dont do it, you should not have to pay the gym. That would more than likely swamp you at first. It takes a good bit of time and effort to get a good client base built up. It takes time for people to see your face and learn to trust you.

I agree. Way too steep to start out. It takes time to build up a strong client base and have steady payments coming in. I could see if you had a few clients and the gym charged u that much but did not charge the customer or yourself any type of membership dues. Think about it. That's $1200 a month. The average membership is $30 a month. You would be better of getting a membership at a different gym and approaching people telling them your a trainer and if there looking for one to let you know. Then if someone asks that works at the gym just say your client is a workout buddy.

First, how much are you charging for your sessions.

    $1200 a month is a lot if you're charging $30 per session. It's not that bad if you're charging $100 - $125 per session.

Second, what are the demographics of the gym? Bodybuilding place or a family facility? Do they do a lot of personal training there?

Third, is there anyone who is already a successful trainer there? If so, approach them and ask them how they like it. How did they do starting out, etc.

Well now that I think about it, he could pull it off. When I had my first personal training job...my boss had a client base that consisted of nothing but rich housewives. He was making a fking killing. It was ridiculous how much these women could get their husbands to pay!

I'm a trainer...and most gyms in South Florida make trainers pay from $300-400 a month....considering I get $50 an hour minimum...its not that bad...at first some gyms will let you pay half their rate for the first couple months till you get your clientelle up.

I'm a trainer paying about $300 a week on rent,

Average cost on session is about $40 per 30-40minutes.

First 2 to 3 months will definently be hard, but it'l take time..

I believe it's worth it if you're in for working hard.
