tuna?
so i go to the grocery store today and buy some tuna. the only reason i did was becasue the last tuna my mom bought was chicken of the sea albacore solid white in spring water. i bought the same exact thing to day but there is a difference. the cans from Cub Foods had 90 cal. and 40 fat cals. while the cans i bought to day (same bar code and all) was 70 cal. and 10 fat cal. do any of you kno why this would be? it pissed me off that the food that i buy and pay so much for was fo fattning.

Ok, If you bought exactly the same tuna as your mom, then the serving size is a bit different. This same thing happen to me and took me a while to figure out all this stuff between different brands.

Thank you for your recent letter concerning our labeling statement on our
Chicken of the Sea albacore tuna.
It has been determined through research and sample analysis that albacore
tuna sourced in different geographical locations have slightly different
nutritional profiles, specifically regarding fat content.
We have therefore developed two sets of label statements to ensure that the
nutritional facts on our albacore products are as accurate as possible.
As the fish are received at manufacturing plants, controls are in place to
identify and segregate fish by source in order to ensure correct label use
when the fish is packed and to guarantee accuracy of nutrition information
provided.
We hope this answers your question; if not please feel free to write to us
again.

Yup Oil and Water there is a big time difference in the two as far as fat and calories. Stick with the water. I personally like the Tuna Salad lunch packs. They come with a can of tuna, relish, mayo (which I throw away), and some crackers. has about 20 grams of Protein no fat, and only about 10 carbs. I eat one everyday right after my lunch.
