New Orleans/South Louisiana area TRT doctor

can anyone please help me find a doctor in the new orleans area or anywhere within a few hours drive, that actually knows what they are doing/talking about when it comes to trt or male hormones in general.

im only 23, been suffering with this for awhile now. i ran out of health insurance and have been going to a free clinic. no one seems to know what they are talking about and i cant keep living like this. someone please help me find a doctor who isnt so ignorant on the subject. thanks!

Why not just check out Low Testosterone - $199 All-Included Testosterone Treatment

One stop shop for all TRT needs with a focus on modern therapy. Not a clinic or pill mill.

i wish i could just find someone in driving distant tho, houston is driving range but i would never trust my piece of junk car to make it that far. it might come down to it though if i cant find any real help.

i mean seriously, over this last year ive had bloodwork 3 times. First time was below the reference range, doc said change lifestyle blah blah, well i did. second blood test, test went up 50 points and was only 50 points from the bottom reference range number. 3rd was the same... still getting thrown around with no help or treatment whatsoever. like i said im only 23 and this is unbearable.

How far are you from Baton Rouge? I see a Urologist here that's pretty cool Dr. I'm sure he'd be glad to treat you if your blood work shows low T.

My doc is about a 30min drive in Covington from New Orleans.

PM me and I'll give you contact info. However he is not cheap and I'm unsure if he will treat anyone under 35 without a referral.

ozley62 i live in new orleans so only like an hour drive away. ill also be moving to BR in august, so that could work out

TraceMYD it wont let me pm you since i dont have enough post yet.

however the doc at the health clinic i been going too finally just ordered an ultrasound for me next week. so hopefully we are on the right track, i doubt it though. i mean after seeing this doc for like 10 min it was obvious they knew nothing of male hormones, she is however just a GP and said she was going to send me to an endo after the ultrasound.

if it is possible for yall to pm me the contact info bc i would still like to check out the other docs bc i dont trust mine.

It won't let me message you, i think you need to get up to 50 comments before you have that option.

Honestly, I think you need to find the root of the problem at your age, then just finding a doc to give you TRT.

I have a feeling My TRT doc would most likely send you to a Endo before even letting you fill out an application.

Yes, most GP's don't know crap about TRT.

Why don't you get a full blood panel done and post it up, I'm sure someone could give you some incite on here.

I don't think it's ignorant. I think it comes down to the scope of the dr.'s practice and the liability and risk of taking on certain patients.

Understandably, My doc only wants clients who qualify for TRT for anti aging related reasons. He may not feel qualified enough to diagnose someone and treat someone in your predicament. In that case he's actually being responsible with his practice.

Sounds like to me that Maybe these Docs are turning you down and telling you to go another route but MAYBE you are not listening... and you are just on a hunt for a doc that will
blindly give you TRT or something.

I'm sure it's frustrating to be in your position.

Personally If I was you and at that age TRT would be my last choice. I would try to find out the root of why this is happening to you at 23, maybe there is something else going on, maybe it's a gland, maybe it's a tumor that can be removed.. who knows... but it's worth it because TRT is like making a deal with the Devil.. once you are on it, it's for LIFE and if you stop you are totally F#%Ked and the Devil will come collect all that he gave you.

ive had a dr offer me trt when i was only 19....my current doctor also prescribed me hcg ...i mactually hesistant to do any of this lol.

i dont really believe in anti aging...i think that's a quack field unless you have low t.

no offense, but if you have followed my posts i have been getting tests done for 5 years..so all the maybes have turned into maybe i jsut have low t because my body has low t..and if there is something at this point it's not worth the effort trying to find it..so i dont appreciate being told i m trying to do something greedy when my t level is low as anyones and ive done the best icould do avoid trt(and still am doing so)

my comment to you was not about me, but about the fact that a guy under 35 can be more deserving of test than a guy over.

Sorry I haven't been following any of your threads. Non offense takin.

If finding a doc that's educated is your problem then why not just go to lowt.com?

I told my friend about them and he went to location in Cali. And he said the doc was very good and thorough. They even did a prostate exam which caught him off guard. lol

They have a location in Houston I think, that's only a 6hour drive from New Orleans.

They also have a travel reimbursement plan too if you want to fly.

This may be the best option and although it may be a initially be a pain to travel to Houston. It may be the fastest way to find out what's going on and prevent anymore time being wasted talking to uneducated docs. Ya know?

im actually not even trying to get on trt. i do not have any treatment in mind because i do not know what the deal is, which is why i need a doc who knows male hormones...

i was just trying to find a doc who would actually do some investigating into why my blood work has shown my test levels in the low low 300`s and pretty much being a zombie, continuously for the last year.

doc finally sent me to get an ultrasound of my nutz, finally they did something.....

the radiologist said i have a very very minor varicocele.

so my doc says that is the cause of my really low T. she said she will send me to a urologist to get the varicocle fixed and then my test should go back to normal. wtf man

    i need a legit doc

ive had bloods taken three times since last summer

1st test level was 275, doc told me come back in a month. did that and it was like 350.
i was tested a 3rd time like a few weeks ago and again my test was around 350 AND i feel HORRIBLE

i will try to post all the bloods later once i figure out how to use my scanner

and just to throw it out there, im not some guy set on trt, im not a body builder, im just tired of feeling like an 80 year old man and need legit medical help from a knowledgeable doc

im not sure yet. all the journals/articles ive read seem to conflict with one another when it comes to helping raise T, especially since my varicocele is so minor and doesnt even bother me.

i am gonna talk to the urologist that shes sending me too and see how he feels about it. but im not convinced fixing a minor varicocele will raise my test to healthy/normal levels.

went and seen the chief endo dude, not gonna list the hospital to keep it anonymous (for now), after explaining my life story pretty much and how i been feeling this last year, pleading for help, since ive been trying to get help for a year now and am supposed to restart college this august, uggghh im so frustrated!!

guy looked at my last bloodwork which showed my test 353, like 10 points from the bottom number of the reference range, and said hmmm well these levels arent bad...

i told him anyone with an internet connection and 10 minutes could easily find out that my levels are BS and is the reason WHY i feel like total crap (which is a huge understatement on how i feel) now the reasons they are that low is your job to figure out, because i dont know why.. of course i said this all very respectfully...

anyway, hes sending me back to the charity clinic (since i have no insurance)to get more bloodwork.. this is what he ordered
    prolactin
    test total
    test free
    LH
    FSH
    chromosomes

and this 5 minute visit cost $250! and that was just the doctors portion, the hospital portion, i told them to bill me

all in all this is kind of me just ranting to let off some steam and to just keep a log of my situation, because im going to get this shit fixed, and i want it to be on here to maybe help someone else in my shoes in the future.... so sorry for the bad grammer etc.. when im fixed, i promise to edit all this mess.....

and the reason i went to this endo, was to try to get another opinion on this whole low test BS, while i wait to have this MINOR varicocele fixed (which the last doc said would fix me) which i had HUGE doubts after some research

but i will log everything and post all bloodwork eventually when im not so stressed, like i said, to help the next dude, i just can barely think straight anymore...

oh yea, and im not tryin/wanting trt.... what i really want is to find out wtf why my test is so low, and possibly try a heavy pct to restart my system, bc i can promise my test wasnt this low from the get go, all this seemed to have noticeably started within the last year, maybe year and a half

im fed up with this!!!!! and this is pretty much a rant, so my bad

I was at a fertility clinic in new orleans recently. They had a pretty knowledgable doc and endo on staff. They are always dealing with hormones. Over there so It may be a route to explore to find a good doc or endo.
