    Bench

I was watching Fox Sports Network the other day and saw a benching competition. Some guy broke the bench record with a 706 lb. bench press....crazy

What weight class was he in? I'll be pretty impressed if he's in the 123's

Screw that, if he is anything under 350 he's benching double his weight, thats impressive to me.

I'm impressed by triple bodyweight bench presses. I remember seeing some Japanese guys with crazy totals that looked something like this .... bodyweight 150 bench 450, squat 450, deadlift 450. I don't remember the actual numbers but it went something like that.

Lifting 2 times bodyweight is impressive. But 3 times bodyweight can only be accomplished unnaturally. It is possible to lift twice your body weight naturally.

Some people think you should you should lift raw. I don't care if you are using a triple ply denim shirt, it's still impressive to me, and so are the "unnatural" lifts. You still have to train hard and know what you are doing to get there.

They give you around 100 pounds on your bench. So IMO its cheating.
