    Please critique (rep scheme)

There is a trainer at my local gym that said he came up with the perfect rep scheme. He said your first 2 sets 4-6 reps, the next 2 sets 12-15 reps, the next 2 sets 20-25 reps. He said your muscles are made of 3 types of tissues and this rep scheme will hit each tissue. Please feel free to give positives, negatives or you own opinion on this rep scheme.

I dont like fancy schit like that..I keep it simple. 2-3 sets per exercise, 6-8 reps. Works for me. There is no "perfect" rep scheme IMO, everyone responds to a different type of training.

sounds like a good theory but i could sit and make up theories all day that seem smart but once tested they dont work....theres a reason that the popular rep scheme is low for putting on size....which is that it works...i wouldnt trust everything u hear....also im assuming u meant this rep scheme is for putting on size/mass?

He's probably refering to slow to fast twitching muscle fibers. I typically do 2 sets heavy(6-8 reps), one set moderate(10-12 reps), & one set light (16 reps). I think the six sets is a bit much.
