Rest Days
I'm currently going to the gym about 5 days a week (m-f, roughly) but i'm reading on the web that it's better to go day on, day off.
I'm thinking of switching to Mon,Wed,Fri,Sun.
Any thoughts on this ? I'm 5'10" 150 lbs, up from 140ish when i started about 5 weeks ago. Lifting heavy stuff (heavy as i can) .. trying get bigger/stronger.

I think as long as the muscle group you worked gets a 24hr rest - you're in the green... I typically do a 4 days on - 1 day off... With the proper schedule maintenance I'm usually able to work most muscle groups twice a week...giving each plenty of rest in between.

i try to give each muscle group 48 hrs rest...but that's just me. i'm usually pretty sore, 24 hrs wouldn't be enough

I do the same give it a 48 hour rest. The routines that I have followed are 2 on 1 off, and
Mon. Chest and bis
Tues. Off
Wed. Back and tris
Thrus. Off
Fri. shoulders and traps
Sat. Legs
Sun. Off
Both of these routines gave me great results. Remember you grow when you are rest and recuperating not when you are tearing the muscle down in the gym.

You can workout 5 times a week but you need 48hrs of rest. Try that and if you need more rest than don't work out 5 days in a row. Listen to your body.

Cardio
REST or Cardio

Gives my muscles enough time to rest.

For a natural with ordinary genetics,I would say 5 days a week hard and heavy would be too much.One on one off is better.BTW I am about the same size as you and alternate day programs work well for me.

You need to rest more bro if your not useing gear.I think 48 hrs is good
my routine is a little differant though
monday Arms,Delts
tues rest
wed rest
thur chest,back
fri rest
sat rest
sun legs,abs
Iam doing a HIT Type program and need the rest .

Wether I'm on gear or not this routine is working great for me
2 days
1 day off
3 days
1 day off
repeat
