this is based on skill.. it happens everywhere. if your skillful enough to earn 7$ then god bless you but if your not then 5.15$ is all your going to get..

You are missing the point then. A job that deserves $7 might only pay 5.15 to an immigrant, not bc he cant do the job as well but bc he is willing to work for less.

Regardless of logic though, immigration is a problem. If it wasnt then we wouldnt be trying to stop it at the border. Soon whites are going to be the minority according to current trends. And who do you think is going to be the majority? you guessed it, hispanics.

The fact is that the only way being a minority would hurt you is in the voting booth. and im sure you know that most americans (predominately white) dont vote anyways. so in a way its already a moot point. its just numbers. no use getting upset over numbers. if your so worried about being a minority go on a voter registration campaign.

I am surpised that nobody has mentioned the rise of China as a reason for the decline of the USA. We may still be around and toting a little influence 50 years from now but be sure that the superpower will be China and not us.

Chalmers Johnson wrote a book on this, I haven't read the book, just saw him on C-SPAN, but from his point of view it is inevitable. I think one of the cases he stated was perpetual war, we have something like 730 military bases, not counting secret bases. Might be an interesting read if you into the topic.

I conclude the book by basically saying there are four styles of empire that are likely to occur. One is perpetual warfare, just as in the case of the Roman Empire. Secondly, the end of the republic; that is, the breaching of our structure of divided government that was created two centuries ago. Third, lying and disinformation from the government in speaking to the public, which are precisely the biggest issues in the country right now over the justification for war with Iraq, and Colin Powell's deceitful speech to the U.N. Security Council on Feb. 5 of last year. And fourth, and perhaps most obviously, bankruptcy and economic collapse. We are now going into huge debt. We have conservatives in America declaring the President to be the most fiscally irresponsible President we've ever had. As Herb Stein once said when he was chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, "Things that can't go on forever, don't." We lavishly spend $400 billion on defense budgets, not including Iraq, Afghanistan operations and occupation.
