I once scared myself by injecting a 15cc bubble of gas oxygen into my right median cubital space venus bloodstream. My heart made some very unusual smacking noises that sounded like little kisses in my heart until the cavitation issue was resolved through tissue oxygen absorbtion. Felt really freakin strange, too. I was scared.
Hmm...so will you be shooting for 20cc's next? more is better right?

i would think that the 1000 lb bench is alot like a 4 minute mile....nobody in the world could do it, then somebody does it....the very next week like 5 other guys do it too....i think it will be done and there will be many to do it....the first one is the hardest one though

With all the stuff in this thread about a bench shirt adding 100 - 200 lbs to your bench. I wonder how many guys will be at the gym bench 250 - 300 with the shirts on and looking just a little silly.

I also wonder if the definition of clean is- when the juice is no longer detectable.

THe answer to your question is yes, we will see a 1000 lb bench

November 21, 2004, during the IPA Nationals, SHW Gene Rychlak Jr. opened with 950, and on his 3rd attempt benched a new world record 1,005 pounds!

Less distance = Less work done... its a powerlifting trick...

go wide and reduce the distance traveled... also his big gut is helping him quite a bit...

Supposedly if you're a good bencher you only have to move the bar 6 inches... I think thats B.S but thats what a lot of lifters do .

I am stunned that he got that weight up... thats crazy... 1005 lbs...

How is that B.S? I don't understand why people complain about it. Your not competing against him and neither am I. The goal of powerlifting is not to be the best looking, or who has the best form. It's how much you do not how you do it.

Too many people believe powerlifting is just lifting weights. There's a lot of other things that some people don't agree with and some neither do I. It's a sport. Bench shirts, squat suits,Dl suits are all just parts of the sport. The only thing bodybuilding and powerlifting has in common as far as that aspect is there are free weights involved.

If you wore a squat suit your squat could go up another hundred lbs theoritcally .

It was considered official, so i guess he did!

My buddy was tellin me that his gym has a message board inside, and there was a note written from him on it that said "Gene is benching tommorrow, needs 3-4 spotters @ 4pm. Thanks"

    Thats insane.

I think im gonna write a note at my gym that says "Ian is benching tommorrow, needs 3-4 spotters, thanks", then im gonna get like 875lbs, throw it on there, have 2 people on each end, and just let the spotters know that ill need a liftoff, and ill need a tremendous amount of help getting it back up once it touches my chest, and to also slowly lower it down on my chest.......actually, pretty much ill let them know they are doing all the work, and i just want to look liike a tank.

Thatll impress the gym people lol
