IMO, 14yr old girls are considered little kids when you are 22.

Also, I believe your comment roughly was "Why dont you shoot cops instead of animals."

You wanted a debate bro and thats what we are giving you...

    So you didnt say this

You are constantly quoted by several members, but you keep backpeddling with comments like you were just joking, or thats not what you meant.

you claim in your statement that a more gentle and kind way in which to raise children... to teach non violence..

I put forth the idea that if a person is a pacifist, or not... but one that will not fight for themselves, or thier contryman.. will in the end be faced with the decission..

to convert to Muslim faith, or be put to death.. for that is thier creed..

Why teach your child to kill instead of compassion and love for all life in general... A child is too young to understand this is a living, sentinent being.. that it feels pain .. teaching a child to kill for fun is just plain wrong.. heres another article I found. I have two daughters and if I ever see them doing something to hurt an animal, even if its throwing a rock at a bird or a mouse or one of our two dogs, I stop them.... tell them, would you like if someone hit you, or threw a rock at you? When you do that to them it hurts them, they feel pain too and I have to say they have carried on with that way of thinking, if they see a dog in the street or a bird or any animal , now they want to help it instead of hit it or kick it like alot of the other kids, they have learned compassion.. my 4 year old saw a homeless guy the other days and asked me to get him a meal, didnt have much money, but it was worth it, anyway, back to the subject at hand......
Teaching a child to hunt is NOT teaching a child to kill for fun. I dont know ANYONE who hunts strictly for fun. Though they may get enjoyment out of hunting, they do use the meat at least, and sometimes the hide. People who take their guns out to shoot things just to shoot em are not hunting...they are shooting, not hunting. Please dont get the two mixed up. How is this cruel? Also, there is an age limit for when a child can hunt. By the time they reach that age, they 100% know that "animals have feelings too"...animals feel pain, have compassion and often have pets. The kids that kick the cat or torture animals do not do that because they hunt. Most hunters are animal lovers. You talked about in one post how cruel the 'animal farms' are. Well hunting is one way to get our meat in a non-cruel manner, since we arent going to become vegetarians. Its like you going out and picking your own vegies from your garden instead of buying it from a store that tortures their plants with all those pesticides... But to directly link hunting with kids not having compassion is ludicrous, imo.

Dime, I grew up in MS and from the age of 12 I've hunted. My father took a lot of his time and spent it teaching me and my brothers gun safty and too be a proper hunter. We, my brothers and I, weren't allowed to even carry a gun until we new all the rules by heart. Once we knew the rules we were allowed to carry a gun for a couple of trips but without ammo while walking (the old man wanted to make sure we didn't make any mistakes getting over and around objects..like fences and such). Also before we could acctualy walk off by ourselves with loaded guns we had to have shot each of the guns my father owned....let me tell you black powder gun kicks like a freaking mule when your young....screw that, it kicks like at any age.

My father also taught us to donate monet to help perserve wildlife. We even had feeding spots we put out grain during none hunting season to help out....and we were never allowed to hunt in the areas we had feeders at. If you fired your gun then you ate what you killed. If you wounded an animal then you didn't leave the woods till you tracked it down....he actuallu made me hunt down a deer I wounded all night...tracking with a flash light is a bitch (seriously after it got really dark I just camped out and waited till light to resume....the old man wouldn't have let me back at camp anyway). We all had license and stamps for whatever game hunted....if it wasn't up to snuff he wouldn't let you go. Nothing of the animal was wasted.....we even made sausage using the intestines. If you made a kill of a large animal, like a deer, even though you could kill one a day by law my father would only allow us one per week. I can't tell you how many poachers we turned in (my cousin is a game warden). We didn't leave trash or smoldering fires when we left the woods. And my old man always said if you can't get a clean shot and drop the animal with that shot then don't take it.

So not all of us hunters are bad or cruel...........my family also has 90 acres of untouched land that I have never hunted on......we're not allowed....my grandfather wanted it that way.

Here is where Dimes is getting his information from,

I thought it was important to put his information in context, since he would not divulge the source.
