they have a honors in science of some sort from Queens university, some other certifications and makes a real clean 70k a year easy, and I say easy and clean because of the perks of the job that get paid by the company, so its like NOT paying for something others would have to....
gets a nice free company car, gets that maintained and paid for by the company, has 15gs a year in expenses to take doctors out to lunch and dinner etc and eats in the finest restaurants etc all over the city...
ummm, what else, everthing is expenseable with that job, parking, food, massaging, genital massaging... well not that but, my natties are comin back and I'm gettin hornaY again.

Through my life I've been friends with several personal trainers and most of them had to end up living at home with their parents cause they made squat to.
It's just that in that business it takes time to make decent money, gotta build up a clientelle and get a good name for yourself. My one friend use to work for a gym, made about $20 per client (cause when you work at a gym they charge hourly rate X and you only get a percentage). Well now he's on his own but doesnt have a big enough client base so still making squat.
It's a tough business, you can do well but it takes time. What other options do you have?

Well, I have no degree, but I started an e-commerce development business on the side of my day job about 8 months ago basically learning how to and teaching others on a part-time basis how to take advantage of the shift in buying from brick and mortar establishments to the internet. Because of it, when my wife comes home on maternity leave this winter, she'll never have to go back to work. About 8-12 months after that, I'll be able to dump my day job and just spend about 15 hours/week on my business.
I make about $50K in my current day job and the income from my business will match that by this winter. By this time next year my business income should be near or above six-figures annually. It's just a duplicatable system with tremendous mentorship.

There are two ways to make decent living without a college education.
Own your own business or Sales.

I think the statistic was somewhere around 90% of people that win over $1 million in the lotter have spent it all within 5 years. In the end, a "decent" living is always relative. Many people, college educated or not, may make a decent living while they're working, but I don't know of anyone who has become financially independent working for someone else. Obviously I'm a big-time supporter of free-enterprise.
