Anyone ever deal with a headhunter to find a job
I am a senior computer techicien, and a junior network admin, right now i am learning the rops in a small company and working for peanuts.
I have 8 years of experience in computers and was making 50k before being layed off 3 years ago.
Now i make 31k a year and its a real joke, i learned a lot to move on right now.
Couple of people talked to me about headhunters and that they can find pertty $$$$ jobs, i was wondering if someone ever used the service of a headhunter to get a $$ job.
I have been told that you can make close to 50$ an hour by working has a consultant.

Problem with headhunters is that there are those who actually are fair, and there are those who are not. Depends on how they get their money. Sometimes YOU Have to pay them up front. Sometimes, they work for companies and the company pays them a certain percentage of your salary (of course, that percentage is taken off your salary without you knowing it) but that way, the higher your salary, the more the headhunter gets paid so thats the best i think. Just dont get ripped. what area you lookin for a job in??

yes...
a headhunter accepts cash contract from an employer to find qualified workers..
headhunters that charge you to find a job are not worth the time..
consultants are a way to go.. but it is usually short term..
by the way..
i own my own business, data security mostly for banks..
i typically charge $150 per hour for consulting..The answer to your every question
