White noise generators help me a ton. My mind races when I just lay there, so I have an air cleaner running and it drowns out my thoughts, puts me to sleep like a baby...
Another remedy would be to stand 5 feet away from a wall, facing it, lower your head to a 45 degree angle and run as fast as you can forward. There will be a slight pain followed by some dizziness, but you will most likely be out like a light for awhile.

I use more "natural" method. Computer , dark room, headphones, and some tissues. Works every time

Not sure, i guess im just stressed out, but i dont normally fall asleep until about 3 in the morning, and i get up at 6 for school...then fall asleep during the day, but all wound up at night...my internal clock is thrown off i guess
