spotting by the tards is the worst. This kid comes in well everyday I see him at least and he always dose chest. But hes been there for a while so he knows how to do the exercises properly. I usally ask the trainers or supervisors here to spot me but they were working with one on ones so I asked this guy to help me I was doing flat dumbell press after incline barbell so I'm pretty fried as it is so I tell him 8. well I get 6 up and in my mind I know 7 is gonna be tough so I get it half way and then I need a little help. Now common sense would tell you if I needed help on 7 then 8 will be the same but more. So I tell him one more and start. I get it a qaurter way up and need some help and hes pushing lightly making me do the work which was cool but he wasnt spotting me at all the weight got half way up and he has no control over my arms and the dumbell comes down on my chest. I didnt want to be an ass b/c he must not know how to spot but I just told him thanks and waved him away.

    my wife

God bless her, she is the sweetest thing, and nice to everyone but she has absolutely no situational awareness. She wants me to go with her to the gym and help her out with a routine....All is going well until I take her to the b-bell area. I point and say go get two 10 or 12 pounders to do standing curls with...bammm!! she is off like a shot before I could stop her....it looks like a Chevy Chase scene, a dude is benching heavy bells, she cruises past, just as he is getting up, his right foot goes out, she trips over it, takes one stumbling step, into a guy doing lateral d-bell raises, he has to drop one of the bells, she grabs him, thinking he is gonna fall, or to keep herself from falling....fvck!!! It was chaos!!!

The doing the raises is just standing there looking at her like WTF lady!!! The dude on the bench press is trying to hide a grin and a laugh. She is apologizing to everyone in the area. I make it up to her and say to the dude sorry man, you ok? (I knew my wife was ok) He says yes...he can see she is not experienced in the gym and says to her nicely, "you have to be careful in here.., it can be dangerous"...well...she takes that as an invitation to start chatting...I take her by the arm and say come on hon,...we've done enough damage for one day...

We had a talk about gym etiquette, and about how and when to move around the gym, and the free weight area specifically...again...I told her take notes cause this time there would be a test.

I still laugh when I picture it in my mind..
