Nope, nothing is required at a lot of places. Some of them do require a grappling background however.

I'm in TO and I've had frineds be approached by bar Managers to work as a bouncer.. so I'm sure it would be pretty easy if you actively looked. Especially in the nicer weather because patios are opened and they need more muscle to watch those areas..

rob you have a point. working behind the bar is more hectic and usually harder work than doing the door, but your risk of legal trouble and injuries is waaaaaaaay lower. bouncers are paid to take shit off drunken idiots, bartenders are paid to create drunken idiots lol

Bouncer is more laid back, unless a fight breaks out of course...talk to alot of women...talk with your buddies...alotta fun

bartending, well im the only male bartender so im always groping the other bartenders and vice versa...sorta like a game of tag while were working. It gets pretty hectic sometimes...but i love the challenge...and you get tips like mad.

yeah exactly. its a real easy, often boring job if there is a lack of women lol, but when you do actually have to work, it can get ugly sometimes. the groping women behind the bar thing, youve got it sorted, keep them hands-a-busy

In most clubs here they just want you to be atleast 200 and 220+ is a big benefit. They want you to look intimidating or have some kind of martial arts, or fighting background but most of all they want you to be a big guy.

If you got the weight and some background then its easy. Just walk in the club and talk to other bouncers or ask to speak to the guy in charge of hiring bouncers. You can even call in, once he sets up an interview with you its over.

mate in england its easy as hell to get into it, as id imagine it is anywhere. ring up your local colleges and see if they do the SIA door supervisors course, if they do, enroll, pay up, do the 3 small exams and read the little book they give you, and then there will likely be some kind of hands on training, overall youl spend probably a week overall on the course. get your badge and start work for any company you want. the UK scene is crying out for badged doormen

bro I dont think there is such a course for bouncering in toronto or even in canada.

They mainly want your size, weight, confidence and if you have some sort of a fighting background it will benefit you or increase your chances of getting the job compared to someone else just with the size.
