Hey guys, I was just wanting some openions about working for 24 Hr fitness as a P.T. Is this a good place to get a foot in the door, and make some good money, or is it just alot of bs to deal with. Any openions are welcome and apreciated thanks in advance. JT

I have 3 friends who are PTs at 24. Apparently its a crappy schedule, but you make decent money if you are willing to put in the hard work. I dont see how it could be all that hard. Besides, there is BS at any job.

Ok so I just had my second interview and it went really well, so what is the money like realisticly, and how long before you can start making good money?

When you are working for someone else, you'll never make "good" money.

They are bringing in the clients, doing all the leg-work, etc., so they take most of the $$ while you do all the 1 to 1 work and they do nothing.

what you could do is work there and build up a small client base of your own.this can get things moving.

^^^^ Preach it Swole.. that is exactly right. When you work for someone else and you let them control how much you make you will never make "a lot". Getting your foot in the door is great.. go build up some clients and then move to a new gym, bring those clients with you, get the new gym owner to pay you for bringing the new clients, keep making more and more money by keeping those clients and getting more at the new gym.

If you can do that you bring new clients you can come work for me at my gym Screw 24hr fitness.. Heck all chain gyms at that all they care about is the bottom line and not you or the customer.

Hey man, don't get me wrong, I didn't mean to sound negative and "shit on your parade".

I think it's absolutely fantastic that you wish to be a trainer, and yes, we do all have to start somewhere. So, start there, build a relationship with many people, learn the ropes, etc., and you'll find your own avenue and such to branch out and do your own thing. You can't start out at the top, but you damn sure can work your way there.

Go for it man, just always keep your eyes on the prize of moving up and out and doing it for yourself. You can do it.

Good job getting that landed.. A job is a job and as long as they pay that is a good thing. You need to learn something new each day and you can move forward in life. Whatever you do don't stand still always try to learn something new even if they don't require it at the current job.

    Good luck brother.

    Thumbs up

Thanks Swole no prob man, I did not take anything you or any of the other guys said as being negative. I wanted some real openions from the guys that know what they are talking about, and thats what I got. I will take this job because I can not think of anything I would love to do more with my life than being a P.T. and this will be a good start, all I need is a foot in the door and I'm going to blow the hinges off the damn wall. I know it will take some time. But time and dedication for somthing I love is a hell of a lot better that wasting time at a job I hate!

You'll do fine, and in the years to come you will look back on this and say "wow, I remember when I first got into this".

I know it's the best thing that ever happened to me, although I never thought it would be this good for me. I totally surpassed all that I had hoped for.

    Good luck to you.

Congrats on the new job. Now start winning over some clients, and make them yours.
