3 guys paid so thats 30 dollars and they each get 1 dollar back so you subtract 3 from 30 to make it.. 30-3...thats 27..so to be mathematically correct you then subract the 2 the worker stole from the 27 to make it 25 so thats 5 dollars total..problem solved

ok here is the question:
3 guys walk into a store, let's say a cell phone store, and they like a phone, the salesman says it's $30. so every one of the 3 guys paid $10.
they walk out , but as soon as they walk out the manager said to the salesman that's too much, you have over charged the guys, and he gives him $5 to give back to the guys. the salesman walks out to the 3 guys cars and returns to each one $1 (one dollar) and pockets $2 (two dollars).
so that makes it like that:each guy originally paid $10 - $1 = $9 each guy paid, right? total of 3 x 9 = $27 and the salesman pocketed $2 so the total is $27 + $2 = $29
where is the missing dollar??? i challenge anyone for this, and no BS if you gonna challenge to solve it, i bid you $1000 (one thousand dollars).

ur doin it all wrong ............ $30 total ....... - $5 for the overcharge ... that gives u $25 ...... now when u do this u should add up to $30 again ..... $3 to the guys .... that makes it $28 ...... plus the $2 that the scumbag put in his pocket .... and there are ur $30

The answer is "Why did the clerk keep $2.00?" If they were charged an extra $5.00 and the clerk is keeping two dollars, then he needs to better hand over his "commision."

This is an old misdirection riddle. I learned this a looooong time ago. I think I heard it with 3 guys renting a hotel room and then they give a $2 tip to the bellhop because they didn't want to split $5 in three ways.

They paid $30.

They got back $5.
$30 - 5 = $25

So they each ended up paying $25/3 = $8.33.

They then paid the bellhop $2.
$25 + 2 = $27

The total amount they paid was $27/3 = $9.

The actual money they got back was $3 because they gave away $2 of the $5 dollars returned.
$30 paid - $5 returned + $2 tip

Edit: In other words, it's not $27 + $2. The $27 INCLUDES the $2.

yeh yOO the glitch is simple..
you have 25$ in the register, $5 in the hand of the clerk. Than it says if you subtract $3 from the 30 you get 27 (this is the part where the riddle uses 9X3=27) which is correct but then when it says he pockets $2 the riddle ADDS this amount to the $27 when the first sequence of the riddle was using subtraction (not addition, thats the reverse of logic) the riddle than instead of subtracting the 2 that the guy steals (because they conditioned your mind to think your working towards 30 when your working towards 25) 9x3 does = 27 but that fact shows your working towards 25 because you subtracted (10-1 to get to 9) you dont than start adding shit especially when the clerk pockets (subtracts $2) than **ADDS?!?!** it to 27, the glitch is so simple and stupid which is the reason than no one can find it, is your programmed to believe your working towards 30 when your going towards 25.

hmm. well each paying 10 would be 30$ - 5$ given back which would be, 25 kept by the store, 1+1+1 given to the guys =3 and the guy who pockets the 2.

so 25+1=26+1+27+1=28+2= 30.00

store keeps 25.00
each guy given 1 = 3
pockets =2

so from 30 he gives each guy 1 which is 3 = 30-3 = 27, then he pockets 2 which is 27-2 = 25. of that 25 all is kept by the store...

i explain weird, you gotta do the problem in reverse. good one though
