Agreed 100%. I feel the same way. I used to be pretty chubby (around 20%) and I felt completely disgusted with myself and couldn't stand looking in the mirror. Thats when I found the diet forum and started following a strict diet. I'm still not ripped by an means, but certainly not obese. He made great points in that article. Kind of like a "the truth hurts" standpoint. Sure, its very very harsh, but an obese person reading it could become inspired to do something about it. I also hate whales riding in motorized carts putting junk food in their little tray!

Interesting article. I agree with most and share similar views. Good short read none the less.

He makes very good points. In the "I've tried everything" and when he says..yeah the starvation diet that turns into a bunch of ice cream than crying..

I agree. I hate the "I've tried everything" people. Everyone wants an easy quick fix to lose weight.

Some people with actual thyroid issues, men with low test, etc., and such do have a harder time reaching their goals and making progress. That's a pretty harsh article.

yeh that is true about the medical issues /\ /\ but...
i used to work with this fat girl and i always talked to her about getting in shape or on some type of stricter regimen and she always used her "medical problem" as an excuse to not even TRY.
she told me about some of her past endevours to shed the fat and when she revealed some of her flawed diet strategies i felt so bad for her i wanted to give her a twinky. (saying i exercised once for a month and didnt lose any weight) but yeh the article looks like it was written by someone who went from immersing thier anger and rage into food, then switching the food to the gym. A better coping mechanism noneoftheless, but probaly still traumatized from being fat and being called porky his whole life, def needs to be more sympathetic because if we had no sympathy for fat people they would eat till they exploded.

Sympathy for fat ppl is one of the reasons the keep being fat as fvck. I think everyone should make fun of them more. Maybe it'll make them realize they are unhealthy as fvck and need to change themselves.

that's like walking around the mall with a four-foot green mohawk and getting pissed when people stare at you or treat you differently. What did you expect?
i also like the reinforced sofa link hahaha
i think if your obesity is a mdeical induced condition - low test, thyroid issues - then that article doesnt apply to you. But the people who feed their children to the point that theier children are like 200lbs + at the age of 12 - they should be beaten. Instead of having 'low fat' foods advertised, it should be beaten into people's heads, while in school, taht diet and exercise are absolutely necessary, regardless of how 'busy' your day is.

I thoroughly agree. 95% of the time it's all excuses and weak minded people.

Yeah good read in any case IMO, I think its meant to be an inspirational article not a put-me-down for fat people....
I also agree with the I-was-fat-so-I-can-mock-fat-people rule, since I fall into the same category

Having sympathy for a fat person is like having sympathy for a smoker who gets diagnosed with lung cancer. it just isnt happening.
Thyroid issue, men with low test, etc... it can be dealt with, its just a matter of sobbing over it and using that to blame or getting off your ass and doing something about it
