Well, first of all, if there was a lottery and you were the only the one to buy a ticket.....why do you think you'd win more easily? You'd still have to guess the numbers

If you think about it, everything that happens to you can be either good or bad. If its not bad its probaly good in one way or another, but you just dont notice it. LIke waking up in the morning is good, taking a shower is good, eating breakfast is good. But because these things are happening ALL day you neutralize it in your head as an undefined experience, it means nothing to you, but fact is it IS good. So you have a tolerance to good things happening all day that in your mind have no meaning to them. So the second something bad happens, this breaks your tolerance and you immediately amplify and catastrophize the situation. Now if someone threw your ass in jail. Within a month or 2 your perspective of whats a "bad" or "good" experience will change significantly. Bad experiences can be really good. Cause they produce anger. If you do nothing with anger and hold it in, it turns to depression. If you decide to do something with your anger you can either be aggressive which is usually a way people dump thier anger onto other people, or you can be assertive, which requires patience and planning. Anytime anything bad happens in my life, it turns to anger, than i make sure i convert that anger into something good. And if nothing bad ever happened in my life, i question whether id be in such excellent shape, or would have had half the motivation i have now to make something useful out of my life. Just some things to think about. Bad luck if thats what you think you have, can actually be the best thing for you. MOST things can be the best thing for you depending on how you look at the situation, and what you do about it.

Nope - no family except a sister - but i know what your getting at. And i know there are a billion people worse off than myself.

    This was a mini rant.

Actually not true.. i'm one of those people that truly does appreicate the little things and the good.

The small little things that most people take for granted in life - like someone remembering my favorite chocolate bar. Or even a txt msg that reminds me that someone is thinking of me makes me smiles.

There are moments in the day when i laugh my ass off just because i remember things that happen. I make people in my life smile because I am - Me.

Bad things happen - I make the best of it. I have live alone since i was 16 most people in those types of situations don't turn out that great - I worked my ass off to get to where i am... motivation is something i am definately not lacking.

You definately had your head screwed on. You must have been a smart kid even at that age to stay on track, living on your own. You have made the best of your circumstance and turned out as a well functioning young lady. You take pride in your physical appearance and your health, and you appear to be a very positive person. That is more than I can say for most women I or men for that matter who I have come across in my life. You have done all this coming from difficult circumstances. This is something you should be very prood of.

Could someone please use the laws of physics to explain this phenomenon to me please?

    I need to change it…
My apartment kinda got flooded this weekend – the main pipe from the street appears to have burst and well I am not going into details… and my bank card and bank account has been frozen fro the 2nd time in 2 months because some dumb ass has duplicated my card….OYA and on top of this I am having a bad hair day.

    Your help is appreciated…[/QUOTE]

Luck is what you make of it. Your apartment got flooded this weekend, but maybe there was going to be a gas leak during the night and your house was going to blow up with you in it. Now, to save you something happend that caused your house to flood and you left. This kept the gas line from breaking and actually saved your life. Also, some butt head is trying to steal your money and if the bank did not shut off your card you would have nothing in your account now. At least you can still go to the bank and get whats yours in person. Finally your hair. You were probably going to meet someone that you thought was perfect for you. They were kind and sweet and great looking and rich. You had a bad hair day becasue that person is actually a phsycho path that was going to hurt you! Thank goodness your crazy hair scared them away and you are still here with us.

All of these things may sound crazy, but since you do not know what would have happened if these bad things didnt happen to you, you dont really know if you are lucky or not. You may actually be the luckiest person in the world and you just do not know it! Hang in there. My great grandpa used to tell me that no matter how good or how bad things get, dont get used to it. He said everything always changes. Have a good day and I hope this offered you something enjoyable to read for a minute. Life is crazy, but sometimes you just have to laugh when everthing goes wrong.

Doesn’t seem to matter what I do, but I got shit luck…. Everyone in my life has wonderful luck. Actually a lot of people who just come into my life have even said that their luck has gotten better once they meet me, but my luck... SHIT.

Could someone please use the laws of physics to explain this phenomenon to me please?

I havent read the thread so someone might have said this.

But its ALL a matter of attitude. If bad things start to happen we after a while forget about the good things that do happen each day and only focuse on the bad things and after a while we only se the bad things and think "shit how can ALL OF THIS happen to me".

So just start to pay attention to the good things that do happen just about everyday and you will break the trend trust me

I guess a lot of ppl come and rant and feel sorry about themselves.. this really wasn't the purpose..

    I really don't have a bad attitude

If you really read the entire thread you will see that i said i do appreciate the good things, and that this even made me see people cared who you wouldn't think would... even my boss offered me his spare room, which i thought was so nice.

The physics thing was more of a joke.. i know there is no science to luck.

Nah I didnt mean it like you have a bad attitude. Its just that we tend to focus on those things if we go into a string of bad luck. God knows I have suffered from those more then a few times in my life.

I guess Il get to reading the whole thing
