Use cassien as your primary protein source. Eat cottage cheese and other slow burning proteins before fasting.

Eat higher calories before sun up and after sun down. That's what my brother does so he doesn't lose to much weight.

I have to do the same and i disagree with Cbino sorry bro.. Last year i did just fine i made them all never gained or lost any weight.. Pretyy much maintence for a 30 days...This year my plan suggest by NARK....
take in in 1/2 your daily allotment of protein.. with a lot of fiber and a moderate amount of fat... and some carbs.
Get a month's supply of digestive enzymes as well.. to consume just prior to meal 1.
So meal 1 you'd take in 1/2 your daily protein intake.. some fiber.. some carbs.. and some fat to slow gastric emptying.
Protein must be solid wholefood protein.. no shakes.
Fast tru out the day.. and resume 'normal' eating at sunset.. splitting the remainder of your food intake by deviding the number of awake hours you left over 2 hour intervals.. and dividing your kcal allotment over these intervals.
i.e. if you hav 6 hours left awake.. that means you have 3 2hour intervals.. so you should split the rest of your daily food intake over 3 meals spaced 2 hours apart.
If you have an hour between your sunset meal and the one following it.. get in a training session.. low volume for maintenance. This should keep you sane and maintain your muscle mass during the fasting month.

I dont understand the big deal.. We have to do it. So w/e. Were trying to do the best as possible with the suggestions we have been giving so far. Iv done it since i was 10 so. I have done it while i was working out 2.

Completly understood. I have some buddys who have to do it themselves.. Just wanted to clear this whole cell-renewal-thing up. I understand your ethic motives though, and in fact do look up to your will power to go through this. I know i couldn't!

That's gonna be tough to keep lbs on. I have a buddy that is muslim and no matter how hard he works, he always drops about ten pounds.

i dont think theres a solution for this.
all you can do when you can start eating i guess try to eat every 2 hours.
