around where i live fighting chickens and dogs are a way of life. last month 50 fighting pitts were RESCUED from a breeder. they all were put to sleep by the humane society.

it all depends on the dog itself... i have 4 american bulldogs (2 males 2 females) and some of my boys have pits.. what ive seen is it all depends on how you raise the dog.. ive seen some soft ass pits that wouldnt even hurt a fly.

I think if there the same size a pit for sure..U can't put a 60lb pit against a huge american bulldog..

A real pitbull terrier would def win. I'm not talking about one of these 80-100 lb pits either that everybody thinks is a real pit. They are almost always some sort of mastive/pit crossbreed, but an actual 40-60 lb pitbull terrier will tear shit up.

Not true, the pit terrier is as mean as a rattlesnake in a fight. I've seen pit fights before, my friend had some and there were certain ones he couldnt put together. The terriers would straight **** up the big mastive/pit mixes

It does depend alot on the dog but I don't agree that all the little pits are gonna whip the big ones...I have been around too many..

I have an American Bulldog (he's only four months though ...but he is 45lbs.)...i've also had an American Staffordshire Terrier...
An American bulldog is going to be a lot bigger, but it definitly all depends on how this dog was trained...A pit can be aggressive towards other dogs a lot easier than a Am. Bulldog, but if you have a 125lbs dog vs. a 60lbs dog, with the same training, the American Bulldog is going to come out on top...but is it fair, since the bread is a larger bread?
I'll take a Presa Canario over both
Just to give a shout, i got my puppy from www.SandersKennels.com , and he's a big breader of American Bulldogs and Presa Canario's...they do lot of personal protection and special scenario training, seeing a 180lbs Presa going through a 2 attackers on one scenario is pretty amazing...ly scary lol
Ill try and post pics of my american bulldog later, he's awesome...but you can see his daddy on that site, its Sanders Meir

I voted pittbull because my pitt killed 2 german sheps (cop dogs) and a poodle that jumped in my back yard ... while he was tied up
also i owned a Kane corso (huge pittbull looking dog) he was nice but some one feed him anti freeze... and there went my 2 year old buddy in his sleep
and my brother owns a English Bull Terr and that SOB is mean it killed a boxer that was after my brother i panicked and let his dog go and it ripped the shit out of the boxer it was soo freaky because my brother dog is all white and he was like black looking covered in that other dogs blood... but i was too scared to pull the dogs apart because both of them tried to bite me and my brother so we just had to watch it was sad...
and guys i no way did i let this shit happen for fun it just happened..
and like Captain5214 said in some places it is a way of life... some of people i know fight birds and pits... and some of my asian neighbors fight fish i have went to a fish fight (it is really cool)

anything with Terrier in it is bred to kill, I've watched my two Jack russels pull a big badger boar with a bad attitude out of its hole and rip it to peices, my jacks weigh maybe 15 pounds each if that. They've taken groundhogs too when we lived in the US, and several of our neighbours had missing cats. (i honestly don't know if it was them but my moneys on it)
Terriers were bred to kill and fight to the death, hundreds of years of breeding to get the gamest possible dog.

I actually know some people who fight dogs and they're real careful, they even have a vet on hand. They compare it to professional boxing vs unlicensed fighters. Bets are taken on the dogs, often up to 50k per fight, as soon as one dog starts going down and is shown to be less game the fight is broken up and the winner declared. Its the amateur assholes who just throw 2 dogs in a pit and let them kill each other that deserve to be shot.
Dogs love to fight, its what they do. If its done under carefully controlled circumstances its not as bad as people think. You really think they'd let a 20 thousand pound fighting dog get an injury worse than a little nick or torn ear? nope...

[QUOTE=spound]BINGO!!! You get a pit that is GAME (meaning game-bread) then it will **** shit up..PERIOD.[/QUOTE
I agree with some of that...Even some fighting pits can be beaten...Not everyone is gonna be a badass...Last edited by Hackamaniac; 09-06-2006 at 07:12 PM.

I had a pit that was a great dog with the family and other animals. If another animal messed with it however it would kill it. It killed one of my dogs and almost another before we had to get rid of it. It was a great dog except it would not take shit. Never messed with he would not hard a fly. Once he bites its all over. He jaw is like a vice.

Um, im not going deep into it, but that isnt true, and there are breeds (IE. American Staffordshire Terriers) which they split the lines years ago, any with fighting lines classified as American Pit Bull Terriers, those who have no fighting blood lines, classified as American Staffordshire Terrier...
So yea...no. Not any everything is bred to kill, all dogs are bred for different reasons. Temperment, Energetic, Calm, Aggressive, etc...
