its so funny that you bring this up my gf and i had this discussion the other day, since school started there is this girl whom is in almost all of my classes along with other people. She invited me and my girl to her birthday party and i said maybe when i approached my gf about this she kindof acted weird. in addition this girl will occasionally give me a ride home. I think this is purely friends and wouldnt persure anything, granted i think of her as a friend but woudl never hang out with her without my girl.

on my behalf i wouldnt have a problem with her hanging out with an old friend but a new one no way.

it really just depends on the insecurties of ones relationship

my wife goes out with male and female friends,which is fine but i wouldnt except her and a male friend to spend a night in together watching a movie.

i guess when your in a committed relationship these sought of "friendships" usually end/fizzle out or a compromise is reached.

as for people saying any guy who has female freinds ends up always having sex isnt true....although now i think about it

.i must admit i used to have a "girlfriend" and as long as we were both single wed just meet up have sex and carry on as we were,this spand 10 years until i met my wife.

I actually find it sad that you lose your opposite sex friends when relationships split up! It is like all your friends when you are married split into groups of your wife's friends and your friends and the lines don't cross. This is not quite the same but close to what we are talking about!

I wouldnt have a big problem with my girl having close guy friends, cause I would want to have the same option (especially if they were close b4 i came into the picture). Only time I would be really worried is if she started making more time for him over me. I also think its kinda weird if she suddenly started making a new guy friend at this point and suddenly they were super close. Cause i dont think any guys (in there 20's) are seeking a new (female) best friend. definitely think there was an ulterior motive, and i would tell her that.
I agree with nark tho, tht i would want to meet them myself. She doesnt have any close close guy friends right now cause she has enuf gf's + me + school+family = not enough time to have a really deep relationship with another guy. She DOES however have a lot of casual guy friends, but i meet all of them, and since they like me then i trust them. Cause if i was w/ a girl and i thought her bf was a cool guy i wouldnt doing nething disrespectful like try to start something w/ her.
