Canadian Music!!! Who's your favorite CDN band??
I would have to say my favorite Canadian (and favorite overall) band would have to be The Tragically Hip. Man, can Gord Downie ever rock!! I still don't get why they are not popular outside of Canada... Their music is so good!!
I also like 54-40, Bryan Adams, and for older bands, I like Rush, BTO, The Guess Who and Tom Cochrane. Lets hear what you guys and girls like!! I'm curious to see how many non-Canadians on this board like our music.

Tragically Hip for sure is the best, but a close second favorite of mine is Big Wreck...also Danko Jones. but most importantly big wreck... the pleasure and the greed was such a sweet album.
I have an infatuation with canadian music. I'm from Minnesota.

Thornley and Finger Eleven would be my favourites. Also K-os, if you want to include single artists in there. Our lady peace is good too.

Mousetraps, the Hips new album is interesting...
Been listening to them since they were nothing more than a garage band, I always liked them.
There are dozens of bootlegs of Hip shows out there as they used to encourage people to tape their shows. I got a few myself, I think their live shows really rock (specially with Gord weaving in and out of insanity )

have you seen the new orleans / ahead by a century video on youtube? it was filmed at a concert when 'ahead' was not a song yet, and gordo blended the two songs together... unreal.
i really like "lonely end of the rink" off of world container, the new one... it really sucks that they DO NOT tour anywhere in the U.S. because I am such a big fan... I'm from Minnesota, so I've considered driving the 8 hours to winnipeg...

Is their new CD any good? I didn't like the last one, so I've been hesitant to buy the new one.. I haven't seen the youtube video, I'll have to go look it up.

yes nickelback is awesome, they are my favorite... i remember seeing them in Minneapolis in 1998, before Leader of Men, or How you remind me... they were the first of like 6 bands... wheeled their own equipment on, played, wheeled their own equipment off...
I really do have a fascination for canadian music for some reason... the rock scene is genuine as hell
