A church that wanted to do something special for Hurricane Katrina victims gave a $75,000 house, free and clear, to a couple who said they were left homeless by the storm. But the couple turned around and sold the place without ever moving in, and went back to New Orleans.

"Take it up with God," an unrepentant Joshua Thompson told a TV reporter after it was learned that he and the woman he identified as his wife had flipped the home for $88,000.

we still have katrina people here in the city where i work. most are still getting aid, ie: housing subsidies. i will just leave it at that.....we are lucky it didnt happeded to us

Thats what insurance is for not charity, this house was given to them by a church, and these pricks sold it , it wasent the gov that gave it to them, they sold something that was givin to them out of the kindness of the churches hearts, then the scum bags said take it up with God !!!!!

But the whole point of giving it was to give a family a new home to live in. Does it realy matter if that home is that place or a home in new orleans?

If I give you a car and you sell it and buy a car that better suits you I would not be pissed...

Yes, if you donated me a ferrari and I couldn't pay for the upkeep, I would sell it. But I was ever asked about it, I would be thankfull for the opportunity and honest about the fact that I couldn't afford to keep it. THEY WERE NOT.

Another example...One of those Home and Garden TV givaways...A huge ****ing house to this small family (it was their deam house BTW)...They moved in...They realized a few months in that they couldn't afford the upkeep. They are putting it up for sale. They were approached by the media and were very honest about the problem (AND THANKFUL).

The way I see it...

ya, see that white scholarship program that was being called racist on tv? ha, I laughed, so wot, it was like 250 bucks. big deal. even still, not to sound bias, but there are are black scholarship programs out there, the reason being, is that there are needy poor black familys who honestly could use it. There are thousands of scholarships available. Sometimes you have to look for them though. You would be amazed how many people are willing to give away a few hundred bucks just for writting an essay.
