another Katrina low life
A church that wanted to do something special for Hurricane Katrina victims gave a $75,000 house, free and clear, to a couple who said they were left homeless by the storm. But the couple turned around and sold the place without ever moving in, and went back to New Orleans.
"Take it up with God," an unrepentant Joshua Thompson told a TV reporter after it was learned that he and the woman he identified as his wife had flipped the home for $88,000.
I think that woman is a con-artist, and hope that she pays back the church. That money could have been used for a family that needed the house.
Do you think it's ok for her to sell it, or not?

Both deserve to be shot in public and then thrown into a dumpster IMO, both are a waste of oxygen, typical LA trash.

If their new orleans house was destroyed and they used the money from this house to buy a new one back in new orleans I dont se what the fuss is about.
If they never lost there house to begin with they are scum.

But the whole point of giving it was to give a family a new home to live in. Does it realy matter if that home is that place or a home in new orleans?
If I give you a car and you sell it and buy a car that better suits you I would not be pissed...
But I agree that they should not have accepted a home they dont want to live in. But if they realy lost there home in the hurricane than they atleast got a new home through that kind church right?

eh who gives a shit. they made 88 grand. but they have to live with looking like f*cking fools the rest of there lives.
So is it a really big deal? no not really. theres a lot more scummier shit then people selling a house that got donated to them.
and did u ever think of another side besides these people being scum? you all assume they just were doing it to make money. mabye they didnt like the house? ever think of that? mabye they couldnt afford to pay taxes on the house or pay all the bills like utilities and water, and things like that. theres a lot of different reason as to why people sell houses. not just to make a buck

That is really sad in my opinion, the church members who were the ones who supplied all this money probably had to make a sacrifice in donating all so a shifty couple could make a profit pretty lame if you ask me.

Everyone has an opnion, and mine is they should fvckin die... I wonder what kind of bullshit story they told the church to CON them out of that house ???? The reason why i think thry're full of shit is becuase they weren't up front about it afterwards..."You know, we couldn't afford the taxes, utilities, etc."...or something like that.
"I didn't liek the neighborhood"...BUT SHE PICKED THE HOUSE OUT IN THAT AREA ALONG WITH THE CHURCH.
I call bullshit.
Yes, if you donated me a ferrari and I couldn't pay for the upkeep, I would sell it. But I was ever asked about it, I would be thankfull for the opportunity and honest about the fact that I couldn't afford to keep it. THEY WERE NOT.
Another example...One of those Home and Garden TV givaways...A huge ****ing house to this small family (it was their deam house BTW)...They moved in...They realized a few months in that they couldn't afford the upkeep. They are putting it up for sale. They were approached by the media and were very honest about the problem (AND THANKFUL).
Add that ****ing "married" couple to the rest of those shitheads buying xbox's with their prepaid (read: fLgAtOr paid) debit cards. ****em.

that's why you don't gift things like that to people, you put it in a trust..
"as long as they live there, they live rent free, if they leave, it reverts to the church"
seems the church should have sought the opinion of an attorneyThe answer to your every question

I know a number of people here are students. How many of you have used student loans or grants to buy something not related to school? How many of you have used part of it to pay for a cycle, or new watch, or cloths?

bad example. student loans you pay back, and with interest.

whats this world comin to, when some low life scum can milk a church willing to do good for those who need it? people like this should be tared and feathered.
Im totally choked that this would happen, and the fact that they show no regret. they obviously didnt need the money, they were just out to leach off the good nature of the church... thats sickening, god will not forget, they will burn in a lake of fire!!! with lil devil deamons stufin red hot pitchforks up their arses!

Since this thread got off topic..
There are thousands of scholarships available. Sometimes you have to look for them though. You would be amazed how many people are willing to give away a few hundred bucks just for writting an essay.
