the only time i wore a sleevless vest/t-shirt was to a rock concert

what i could not believe was that when we went to a bar before the gig the bar wouldnt serve me in my vest

Never been inside a club/bar that would let you. Usually there is some sort of dress code...I hope. Even if you were allowed to there is no way I would or anyone around me would cause you would get laughed out of the place.

yep most of the hardcore dance clubs in Brighton are full of sweaty guys with no shirts on.

A lot of guys do it in gay clubs. Big and small guys. I did it when I was small but since I got bigger I don't need to. You can see my size with my cloths on. Also, I don't like people touching or grabbing me. They're bad enough with my shirt on so I assume it would be worse with my shirt off.

where i live, if you're an average built guy and you take your shirt off, people just look at you for a couple seconds.

if you go to the gym and you're in good shape, you're instantly branded a dickhead poser, and everyone wants to kick your ass

Depends on the club.

At "Club Cafe" (aka "Club So-Gay") you'd be out of place if you weren't wearing a cashmere sweater... with another cahmere sweater tied around your waist!

At the "Ram Rod" you're shirt is probably gonna come off at some point in the evening, unless you're REALLY out-of-shape.

The only time when shirts-off is pretty much mandatory is at Tea-Dance, during the summer. Tea-Dances are held outside, usually by a pool or the ocean, and start when the sun is still up at 4 o'clock ("tea time"). You'd look a right dork with a shirt on at Tea.

Straight clubs are weird with men's dress code. It's all wanker music and bad light shows and lines out the door and snotty door-men like they're guarding the gates to Paradise... and they still won't let you in if you've got hair touching your collar or you're not wearing a collared, button-down shirt! Like, what is it? Catholic School?
