Also, if you need to get "new" service, go to compusa to buy an unlocked phone instead of buying an unlocked online. Compusa sells Cingular and Tmobile so they will give you an instant rebate if you activate in-store. Usually $150.00 cheaper than buying online. The phone is still a true unlocked. Your just getting the SIM card from them. and also saving some money by buying the phone "with activation." Plus, you get a chance to see it in person before you buy. 99% of the compusa stores in the country sell unlocked phones in store.

I thought it would be cingular as well but again if i'm not mistaken, cingular is dropping itunes phones, and no more cell phones will incorporate iTunes, in the next releases.
I hope its t-mobile, or unlocked. But if its not gonna be released jan 8th, i'm gonna go with whatever impresses me the most from CES. And i'll make sure it is HSDPA...
Also when networks switch to 3G, will people need to get new sim cards?

Most networks are already 3G. 3G is actually considered to be "EDGE." HSDPA is actually considered 3.5G now. Nope, you won't have to switch SIM cards. It's just another data channel in the network that only complaint devices can "see" to use. 3.5G is already available in Atlanta, Detroit, L.A, and NY.

They all blow to a point. Its just which one will lube you first and the longest. I have a phone for my son through T-mobile. Not bad service coverage and priced OK. 300 min + nights and weekends 39. a month
My daughter has nerxtel. They suck. Poor service coverage and expensive 600 min + unlimited walkie talkie + nights and weekends 92 a month.
My wife and I have sprint. They bite because they wont let me get a third or 4ourth phone because we dont meet their criteria to do so, however we have been customers for 4 years. The plan we have is a shared plan with 1500 min, free sprint to sprint/nextell minutes+ free weekends and longdistance, price, 150 per month. If those basterds would let me get my kids online, I could keep the same plan, lose the other 2 plans and save 130ish dollars a month.

Whats the status with the phone RIZR Z3? Its supposidly going to be released in the states for T-Mobile. 300ish unlocked, figure it'll be around 200 when it debuts here, and my contract is up, so signing discount. Worth it?

I ordered an unlocked RIZR Z3 earlier this week. I bought an unlocked KRZR for my bf for Christmas then later he saw the RIZR and liked it better so I ordered that one to. I'm going to keep the KRZR for myself.
