Question On Buying An Elliptical
Hey, I'd like to get one, as I hear it's one of the best cardio exercises. I already have a bike, intend to alternate between the two with daily 30-45 minute morning cardio sessions (used to do this, but been out of it for a while).
Basically, just wondering, anyone know which ones are the best, but also economical? Also, if you know of a good place to buy in the TORONTO area, please recommend, that would be great.
I've looked into it a bit, I know magnet resistance ones are the best, and even Wal-Mart and Sears sell decent ones. I'm looking to spend about $250, but not much more. Anything else I need to know?
Thnx,

IMO a good stepper/stairmaster beats a eliptical anytime anyday. I just never feelt the eliptical does anything while the stairmaster absolutely kill me.

You said you want to buy a quality 1 around $250. If that's a quality 1 what would a cheap crappy one cost?

I paid £500 pounds for mine in a sale (reduced from £800) and it is middle of the range, in the states that is like $1000 in the sale.

f---ker better work. I am a little rough on them. Going about an hour
lifting dumbells at the same time. You get what you pay for.

We have one from Sears, Pro-Form XP 730 my wife has used it ever day 30-45 minutes for about 1 year, I use it once or twice a week for 30 minutes, we have had no problems with it and it is holding up great. I like to use it much better than the bike. Good Luck Shoppung!

Don't buy anything at sears or sports authority or any of those big box store. Its all the same crap. 1 company Ikon Fitness owns them all. Their more expensive stuff isn't built much better. Its usually just bigger and more features. Not better quality. You are better of going to a fitness specialty store and getting their cheapest elliptical

You will not be able to buy a quality eliptical for $250 canadian.
Why not go and try out afew models. Then buy the one that you feel most comfortable.

I got a nice precor from a gym that was going out of business a year ago. They said they only had it for a few months. It's still working great but I'm looking for another one for a friend right now. Hopefully Precor as well because they seem to be made great.

Hey Gixxer,
I have a Kettler Mondeo eilptical machine for my home gym. Paid about $1500.00 for it after taxes. What do you think of it? My wife and I have put over 1000 miles on it (had it a year and a half) and it's still as smooth as new (and VERY quiet!). Attached is a picture of it.

I would look into getting a Precor or Lifestyle Fitness Elliptical, i prefer Precor. I bought an elliptical from Wal-Mart for $270..it lasted roughly 5-6months..i wore that bitch out. One day i was just moving along watching TV while doing cardio and BAM..the damn sleds broke and i fell forward.

Also when you buy it from a cotsco or a website who will fix it when it breaks? You better off trying to find a local dealer.
