So maybe we didnt find WMD's, but irregardless, Saddam had used them before and killed thousands of Kurds in the north, did you ever see any of the tourture chambers in Iraq, Did you see the palaces this man lived in while his people starved and lived in poverty, were you there when children would come up to you and say thank you in broken english and see the smiles on there faces because they now have a chance at life? I was, trust me the media doesnt portray that side of things. No matter of my opinion on the war and how we went about it, because it was a poor job of planning, Saddam had to be overthrown to even give this country a chance. And really we gave him a timeline, and we had inspectors they chose not to abide by the regulations. With a come and try it kind of attitude, you know your asking for trouble. Also the problem now is both the shiites and sunni's have more equal power and can finnally fight each other and thats why there is bloodshed now and not when saddam was in power, before Saddam just made sure the sunni's would prevail with his army and crooked polics and judges, so the shiites were to scared to stand up for themselves.

Make use of your time off in BUDS, and get some rest. Take a mulit V as well, you will most likley get the recruit crud, another name for the flu that lasts forever.

Get real comfortable in the water. Know your drownproofing steps, the 5 knots you will have to tie underwater, various swim strokes including butterfly, and buddy towing. Practice hypoxics to build up your lung capacity and be able to swim 50 m underwater without breaking a sweat.

Go to an Army/Navy surplus store and stock up on cammies, wool socks, and get a couple pairs of Bates boots w/o steel toes. Get a couple BUD/S issue Ka-bar knives and get them razor sharp. You'll get issued equipment, but it'll all be used by previous BUD/S students and won't be in the best of condition. Plus, nothing sucks worse than having to change out of a cold, wet sandy uniform into another cold, wet sandy uniform. The extra cammies, socks, and boots will help keep you dry, although it won't be for very long...but every little bit helps.

Excellent advice. Also get a brick and practice treading water for 5 min while holding the brick over your head. We have to do that for Marine WSQ water training. I never though it was possible to break a sweat in the water before.

and of course train hardcore for endurance, you dont want to be huge going in there. also i have heard that to be an excellent swimmer you shouldnt be too shredded, a small amount of bodyfat will help you float and make it easier to swim.

are you in the military now?

How about the fact that, if he was in an Iraqi and refused to do an order he would be killed on the spot. He's a hypocrit if you ask me. "I want to sign up and brag I'm a soldier. I just don't want to fight". He is in the Army to serve and protect, not to voice his opinion.

Oh and another thing. I had planned on going into the Marine Corps last July. The entire time my recruiter was telling me not to mention that I had formally had ADHD... The final show at MEPS a few days before I wanted to come clean. One, because my job was going to be very high security and I'm sure they would have done a search to make sure I was applicable. And two, because I didn't want them to find out and think I'm untrustworthy and give me a shit job. So I told them. They asked for documents and told me everything was cool. I gave them the documents. They kept me at MEPS for 8 hours and talked with me for about 20 minutes of that 8 hours and said the documents weren't enough. I tried to get more... They told me I didn't need more but I needed some character references. As soon as I heard that I had had enough of this bullshit (not to mention it had almost been a month). Because I used to have ADHD over two years ago doesn't make me a bad person, why the hell would I need a character reference. So I went to college instead...

thats why your recruiter told you just not to mention it, so you wouldnt have to do all the extra paperwork. anyway a terrible loss for our armed forces.

I'll keep this short, sometimes I talk too far..

    Lied about what??

    Please stop and listen.

    Clinton,Gore,Kerry,Edwards,Levin,Murtha
    Kennedy,Pelosi,Wrangle..should I go on??
All these senators over the last 8-10 yrs
have ALL repeated the same damn thing
about Sadaam and the WMD lie thing..say U.

Liberals have been out of power, they put
our country at risk bashing Bush, when in fact
they all knew the same thing.Sure you can he lied...
But if that were true, why was it passed in congress?

    Ohh...wait,Kerry: "I voted for it,before i voted against it"
And thasts funding our troops..the shame, for he was no
hero, and has turned his back on this country twice now.

Yes..it is,we have morals and care
    about the human race,even when
    they hate us in return..C'mon.

    DONT FORGET...SADAAM paid 250,000
dollars to each family of a suicide bomber
    in Insreal..known fact bro.Sadaam was
    lying to us for years..

    Rememeber the Tsunami last X-mas???
Who was there..US,in full force. What did
we get in return,Al Qaueda t-shirt wearin
fools taking handouts from the American GI.

So yes..we are needed to clean this world up
if you think this is bad now, wait until Iran really
steps up their BS..What are going to say then?
its bush' fault because he doesnt talk with a
    terrorist sponsor state,for many radical.

North korea is not?was not a bigger threat that
Iraq..plain and simple.Kim Jon Ill is nothing more
than a spoile brat who re-nigged on Clintons deal
(while getting head) and continued with the nukes.

    Either way,thats a silly comment.CHINA will handle
North Korea if it ever got to the point of getting
worse. We are there to help South korea,in case.

Know why we haven't been invaded?? OUR MILITARY! They serve and defend us from our many enemies abroad. Because of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force keeping us safe, those people you see chanting "Death to America!" are 2000 miles away instead of over running your neighborhood.

Remember-- Those muslim extremists would kill you and everyone you care about if they only had 1/2 the chance.
But a US Soldier will defend you even if you're a pathetic snivelling liberal who has nothing but contempt for the serviceman while he's defending you.

Dude no offense but you really dont understand your history very well. First of all pearl harbor was the first strike in an invasion of US military bases in the pacific. The Philipines were a huge US base of operations and they were invaded. If you recall the battle of midway the Japanese had thousands of troops that were there it invade the military base. The small marine garrison along with the US navy laid a trap for the Japanese to draw in thier carrier fleet. The planned invasion was repelled and most of the japanese carriers were either sunk or badly damaged. Second I would call traveling thousands of miles across the pacific ocean and bombing a US installation on american soil and invasion just because no boots were on the ground its no different than the germans aerial invasion of britain. Lastly the reason that britain and france declared war on germany is because of the invasion of poland among other acts of war the germans committed. But the more you try to argue points the more apparent it is that you dont have a good understanding of the topic you argue.
