Which torrent site do you use?

I just started using bitsoup, which is a ratio based site. Basically means you have to keep a certain ratio in order to stay an active member (it means you have to upload too!)

Any of you use sites like this? I'd love to get more ratio based sites, as they tend to be a LOT faster than open sites like torrentspy. For example, I am currently downloading blood diamond at 180KB/sec..thats almost the max my cablemodem will download.

From all sites? That sucks man. As long as there are a decent amount of "seeds" I usually average over 50 kb/s or more.

Also use the drop down box at http://www.torrents.to/ and it list about 10-15 torrent sites.

Not sure, but you may try opening the port in your firewall. Torrent programs will list what port then are listening on if you go poke around in the options. You will need to find that port and open it/forward it in your firewall.

A lot of people use it to download mp3's, movies, tv shows, programs etc. You need a torrent client first. I use one called bitcomet (bitcomet.com). Download that program or a similar one first. Then go to one of the sites that has been previously mentioned (mininova, torrentspy..etc) and search for something of your interest. When you click "download" a screen will probably pop of the first time and select the original program (bitcomet) to open that file. Then bitcomet will work as the downloading manager to find all the people that are sharing that file to download it usually fairly fast.

Torrents are files used to download there containing data be it music videos etc. These are hosted on torrent sites like we have listed. You will need a program to download the files from the sites, I recomend bitlord, its free and works fine for me.

Go to the sites after you have installed bitlord and search for whatever it is that you are looking for. If a match comes up, click on it then click on "Download this torrent" And it should give you the option to download it with bitlord "Default" then just click yes and you will begin to download it. You can see how much of it has downloaded etc by viewing bitlord when it is open after you begin downlading.

The torrent files have to haev SEEDS to be able to download them, if there is no seeds, noone is hosting the file anymore and you wont be able to download it til someone does.

Ive been using bearshare for 8 years and although people say its loaded with spyware I NEVER had any problem just cleaning out the little bit that I actually got from it. I've tried countless other programs, limewire, bitcomet, etc and there was TONS of things on bearshare that they didnt have. Not only that d/loading is extremely quick compared to other programs.
For the last year Ive been paying $5 a month for it and now I get absolutely no spyware, even faster searches, more files, and better overall performance.

The few times I have used other things to d/load music movies Ive laughed in disgrace at how badly they suck. Bitcomet alone took me like 3 days to d/load a vid that bearshare took 2 hours on. As much as people may talk shit about bearshare (ive read some reviews on it) Ill prob use it till I die. And im not even sure if you consider it a "torrent" but w/e it is it rocks.
