David Beckham moves to the USA...
Just heard on the news he gets £128m over 5 years or $243m...
And...
He says its NOT about money...
£533,000 a week or just over $1m a week!
Stupid money....

i really wouldnt know where to go with all that money, and ya really its not all about the money, i make $24,000 a year and im luvin life

SO STUPID. He's not with that much cash flow. SOOO many better players are worth more than he is. If Pele couldn't make soccer popular in the United States I don't think Beckham can either. The MLS should have never let Dempsy go to Fulham!

He is worth it. The Galaxy could have signed him for 500 million and they will still make money. Think about the apparell sales that will go through the roof. Not just here in america but worldwide. Then there is the money that will be made on T.V. deals. The galaxy and mls will get a truckload of money selling the t.v. rights outside of the united states. On the field he will still be the best player in MLS. Is he what he used to be, no, but he still is better than anyone playing in mls. He will make so much money for the galaxy. This is a good deal.

I agree on the Dempsey issue. If MLS has that kind of money than we should sign the best young american player, instead of letting him go to the EPL.

hes good in terms of marketing, but in terms of football hes finished, hes just there as a big name, he wont improve anythign at all. hel score 2 or 3 free kicks all season out of about 500 attempts and ppl will love him, but i still think hes crap

Beckham said he played with the best teams in the world and now he wants a new challenge. What's the challenge seeing how much money he can put in his bank account.

But that is rediculously huge amount of money. That alone will easily make him the highest paid player in the world. Shit, the likes of Shevchenko, Henry and Blalock are on 130 k a week and Beckhams pay deal dwarves all of that. I heard on the radio it'll be roughly a million a game he plays in. Not bad for 90 minutes work eh?

If there is one player that can bring interest to the USA it probably Beckham, its also for marketing. Irrespective to how good he is or is not.

I hate it when he says it's not about the money. If one day, all his sponsors and the league decided, we're not gonna pay you anymore..... He'd shit a brick.

I didn't even know there was a professional soccer leauge that pays anywhere near that much! i thought thats the lowest paying professional team sport.
But, on the other hand, David Beckham is like the Michael Jordan of basketall I guess

I guess he doesnt exactly need the money anyway. He's worth an estimated £130m so...Unless he does actually have another agenda?
He says, making football (soccer) big in the USA but...

Yeah I really don't understand the necesity to make $1,000,000 a week. Not only can you not spend that much, but there aer also 99% of people who won't make that in a lifetime. getting a bit ridiculous if you ask me.
-
I could find insane ways to spend a mil a week! It would be like "Entourage" x100
