    Broke the 300lb barrier!!

It all came together early this afternoon when I made a 309lb bench (using 20kilo plates on an olympic bar). It wasn't pretty but my form was fairly good and I got it up. Going for a cleaner lift in a couple days

What a huge psychological break through.

the 3 plates on the bench is a big psychological deal, seems like 3 plates was tough to get to. After you get that 3 plates it seems easy to go up from there until 4 plates, then it tends to psych you out even more. It's something about the big plates, once you get those the dimes and quarters don't mess w/ your head as bad, keep it up!!

LOL! Now that would be a amazing feat!! Honestly, I never imagined I'd ever hit this mark as I never had a real goal with regard to lifting a certain amount. But with the trouble barbell benching has given me in the past, I never thought I'd ever get it. Its an awesome feeling. Thanks for all your kinds words and support.

Good moves, 225 was my demon for quite a while... I don't know why plates are so much more intimidating than other weights.

Congratulations, always good to hear somebody hitting a personal best.

As of yesterday, 179 but the only scale I have available to me probably hasn't been calibrated since it left the factory, if then. I'll be home in just over a week and will check it on a good scale then. Bodyfat too. 2 weeks ago I was at 183 but I added winny and cardio then so I've dropped a bit.

I guess I should have been a little more specific in my thread title, huh? I'm such a dumbass sometimes.

Yeah, you'll get it. Prior to today, or yesterday now for me, my best was 276 for 3. The strength is there but the mental part is a bitch. A guy can do 290 or 295 for weeks but the sight of 3 plates is just so intimidating. Go out and get it and thanks.
