Career Conflict
I am finishing up my freshman year of college. Ive always been pushed into the chemical engineering boat. Im really smart and know I can do it, but it just doesnt seem that exciting.
My passion lies with biology and going even further into zoology. Ya know, working with wild animals. That seems exciting and adventurous.
Of course we all know that chemical eng. make more money, and money talks. My major as of now is chemical eng. but Im stuck in the middle of it.
Any advice? I heard people say, "do what you love, and money will follow", but that extra 15-20 thousand a year would be nice...
Any advice greatly appreciated.
thanks guys

I think that the lifestyle that you want to maintain in the future should best dictate your decision.

I did the biology route, its very hard to find a job with just a BS in the field. In many of the science fields an advanced degree is pretty much a neccesity. You can make good money in the sciences doing what you love its just a matter of doing more school when your done. I know one company I was looking at getting a job at actually would pay for school if I wanted to continue but it was virtually impossible because you still had to work your 9-5 shift. Which is when most of my classes would have been. My advice to you is get your prereq's out of the way and do as well in them as you can and which will open doors for you later on.
