Alot of it had to do with makeup, lighting and graphics, I saw some of the guys in fitness for men and they didnt look anything like in the movie.

According to this article some of the ideas came form his current trainer, Manhattan-based Joe Dowdell, C.S.C.S

They still look skinny even with the effects, and the added size being on TV gives.

True. I really didnt want them to be huge though. Im sure some people were going into the movie expecting them to all be massive and everything. I like movies to be portrayed somewhat realistically to their time period. Its not like there were a bunch of 250lb ripped up dudes fighting in the year 300 b.c.

what do you guys think about dl blind folded,

Think about it, lets say your blindfolded, I bet you could lift alot more than yoou think you can.

I know when I get ready to Dead Lift close to my working max its alot easier if I dont think about it and just pick it up vs if I try to phsquick myself up it always feels heavier.

true, these guys werent 10 second sprinters,i mean how many top heavy weight boxers are/were ripped to the bone????

they are built for a job (tyson) and not to look pretty (pitt)

and i prefer a little realism and hard work in my movies by the actors

the closing of the eyes is to induce more seconday muscles to act as stabilizers... lots of olympic lifters and athelets do that shit w/ all their lifts...

True.... I hate when chicks or even dudes think that pretty (pitt) is how real fighters and IN-SHAPE guys are supposed to look.

I always have to tell them....those guys are so F-in skinny and that is not what real guys look like.

    Their are like what ? 170lbs ????? and 5' 9'' - 5' 10''?????
