Opening Day: MLB 2007 Season
Tomorrow is the opening day for the 2007 baseball season and I'm pumped! Lets get some predictions here...
I'm thinking the Toronto Blue Jays take it all this year, kicking the Spankees and the Bo-Sucks asses!
AL Cy Young: Roy Halladay
AL MVP: Vernon Wells

Everyone is allowed to dream.
The Jays will compete this year, that's for sure. But they will not win the division. At best they will be fighting for the wildcard.

I said it last year and I'll say it again. Detroit will conquer and move on.
But my pick for the NLCS will be the Dodgers and Phillies.

I'm a Yankee fan, but actually know baseball, so I can admit who will win without a biased answer
AL
East - Yankees
Central - Tigers
West - Angels
Wildcard - Tie between Red Sox and White Sox and the White Sox will win in the one game playoff
Aneheim will win the American League
NL
East - Phillies
Central - Cubs - (Yes I said it)
West - Diamandbacks
Wildcard - Mets
Phillies will win the National League
World Series: Phillies over Aneheim in 7
AL Cy Young - Johan Santana
AL MVP - Vladimir Guerrero
NL Cy Young - Carlos Zambrano
NL MVP - Chase Utley
AL ROY - Alex Gordon
NL ROY - Stephen Drew
Biggest Surprise will be Toronto's Rotation with Burnett and Chacin
Biggest Dissapointment everyone on Tampa Bay besides Carl Crawford

The "experts" bashed the Raptors this year saying they will finish dead last, now they are third in the east, first in their division. Can't wait for the Blue Jays to own the AL.

Being a Jays fan doesn't mean their team will do well. Their batting lineup is deadly but again, it takes more than a lot of runs to win ballgames; the other team has to not score. lol

im so sorryy guys for not mentioning that retarted new name they they share with the original brooklyn team.
Cubs by the way dont need prior or wood, you guys are still stuck in an early 2000 mindset. In the NL you need 2 starters and Zambrano and Rich Hill is all you need.

lol. Zambrano and Rich HIll..
We'll see about that. Victor is good but rich is meh

I don't think baseball or the National League can be simplified so easily. Unless your two starters are going the full 9 innings, you need quite a bit more than them. That's why there's 12-15 members of a pitching staff.
Besides that point, the Cardinals and Cubs play around 12-16 times this season. I don't think Zambrano will be throwing all of those games and the "friendly confines" are well-known for being a park you can drop bombs in.
The Cubs really are a victim of their own circumstances and need a new ballpark (not that Wrigley isn't a beautiful place, but let's face it--the game has changed since the 20s).

True, but the same could be said about quite a few parks.
How about that retard field yankee stadium. Even though theyve pushed back the RF fences from the ridiculous 294 feet or whatever it was in right before, its still short as hell.

302 i believe

I'd have thought by now that the Yankees would have a lineup consisting entirely of left-handers from that perspective. You really have to physically unimpressive to not go deep in right field there.

Go Cards Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
04-01-2007, 08:41 PM #35
Let's go Mets!!! They are beating the Cards right now!!

The Mets have such a great line up on paper. Hopefully they can make some noise again this year.
