what yall think we got a bet going on at work that donovan will quit fl to get to take over the best program in ncaabb, thats right kentucky--------- the word is there is no limit to what they will pay hes the only candidate and ky is about bb like fl is about fb. ky draws more fans to there practices then fl being the champs does to its games.

the standards in KY were WAYYYY to high for Tubby Smith. Fans are brutal...I live in KY right now and KY basketball is life to these people...

I wouldn't be surprised if he left. It's where he started his coaching career and has always probably been a dream job. Plus, Kentucky is going to fill his wallet.

I was in Grand Rapids when I first started posting here but I'm now in Southeast Michigan.

UK messed up big. Tubby Smith is a very good coach. Unless they were sure they could get Donovan, Petino, or Pat Riley there was no reason to fire smith. Now they are going to end up with a guy worse than smith. The name I keep hearing is rick barnes of texas, no way is he better than tubby.

if billy d leaves, it'll be for the nba, not kentucky. why would he leave where he could make the same money, has played in 3 championships, won 2, his whole family lives, he has a great relationship with the athletic director, and has boosted his rep to legend, to go to a big ? at a team that hasn't been to the final four in 10 years?

donovan would be a fool to leave where he is. i live in kentucky right now actually about 15 minutes from rupp arena so i know all about uk fans. i don't think there is any question they are the most passionate basketball fans in the world but their expectations are to make the final four every year and it just don't happen. the kentucky basketball coach is under a huge microscope and tubby was a class act and did a hell of a job but it wasn't good enough for kentucky standards according to the fans. i'm not a huge fan but living here i do follow and root for the wildcats and i wasn't happy when i heard tubby left but i don't blame him but i question his going to minnesota. imo rick barns is their best option because of his recruiting. good lord could you imagine the talent he could bring to lexington?
