what would you do if your boss said...

... "maybe in the country he came from they don't have shoes". so i was running bare feet in the office.. one of my colleagues said something about my comfy footwear then a second later boss thrown above comment. i felt very BAD, gave him a cold look but didn't say anything. no-one laughed.

i'm confused right now, i know i should have said something like "yeah.. and you have found me on the street and safe my life" but it's my first proper, well paid job.. and i need it to pay for my gear

but from the other side, the rotten feeling is not going away and i feel i need to do something about it.

any advice will be helpful.. thanks

You were wrong. Why are you running bare foot in an office. You said its a well paying proper job. That's something you don't do. I would drop it your only going to make yourself look worse

Since it is a "proper" and well paying job they probably gave you a dress code stating what proper footware is to be. And if running around the office in bare feet is not the norm, you may want to pull your boss aside and appologize. No snappy one line come backs here. Pull your boss aside and maybe say you have a blister it was in pain at the moment, and you won't do it again.

Bare feet aren't even allowed in stores bro, much less in an office setting. Why not rip your shirt off as well...get comfy. I am just bustin' your chops a little...but it s not professional at all.

You're lucky they didn't fire you for walking barefoot in an office, that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

See if Tom has learned from this experience :

Q: Which man is dressed properly for the office?

    A) The man on the right.
    B) The man on the left.
    C) I don't know my right from left.

Walks around bare footed in an office setting and then wonders why someone makes a particular comment.

It's not rocket science, act professional for god's sake man. You won't be able to pay for your gear when they fire your bare footed ass.

Not yet ready to be a man huh? It takes a man to admit when he was wrong.
