    work comp offering settelment

    i had surgery on my right shoulder in january 07..i get a letter telling me they want to settel (work comp)..there offering me a decent chunck of money, but what i want to know (if anyone can advise)..should i see a lawyer? the doctor says i have a 7%permanat damage to the shoulder..anyone have any expirence like this???

    Yes, always see a lawyer when working with a settlement issue. You need your contracts read to make sure theres nothing hiding and they can possibly get you more. It's worth the money.

    get a comp lawyer, i had to get one and it sure is making a differance in my case. right now, my lawyer is working on getting comp to pay my membership fee to my gym. hey, THE MAN screwed me, now its my turn to screw THE MAN

    7 is a decent rating--if a gives you a imparment rating it means you have reached ***--max med improvement--7% is a decent rating.... you are owed money for that without even settling. there is a formula for the amount of money--for me I was given a 5% and at *** I was entitled to around $2000 one time payment. It is figured on what you made times a certain # of weeks---the worker owes you this even without settlement--if they want to settle make sure this *** is in it

    get lawyer,solicitor, anyone that specialises in that field.

    Yeah, I an attorney and I do a bit of comp work and it's worthwhile to get an attorney even if they just negotiate a settlement.

    my dad he fell down at work because they didnt put salt on the ground. he won 250k woulda won more but the company is not that big so deff go see a lawyer. He did suffer bleeding in the brain 3 weeks in the hospital and he lost his sense of taste
