They run out of room. Around the ages of 18-20 (typically) is when your growth plates fuse at the end to the connecting tissues and cartilage.

cool question Ive heard Ears and nose dont ever stop growing lol but yeah like StoneGRMI said you wont get much taller after about 21 or so...

i think we stop growing because we are genetically programmed to Its our genes, made of DNA, that determine how we grow and develop.

the pituitary gland near our brain stops sending the hormone at a certain time. thats why there are some people that never stop growing (like that 10ft guy from europe) bc his pituitary gland keeps sending the hormone.

the epiphsyal plates come together and then you have no more growth. In normal people, not taking into account giantism and hyperthroidism etc. etc.

So would therebe anyway naturally to keep them growing. I read up thats its something to with estrogen aswell. As you get older your test levels go down and estrogen causes them to fuse.

Well the only way I could see you growing is by taking GH before the plates fuse. That is what my friend did, he was 4' 10" and now is 6ft. Do take into account that this was done under a doctors supervision using norditropin if I remember correctly on the GH.

estrogen causes the plates to fuse this is why men are usualy taller than women because they stop growing sooner. you may remember when you were younger a lot of the girls your age werte about the same height as you until they stoped growing.

HGH and test causes bone growth.

So if you were able to keep the estrogen levels lower when younger for as long as possible then then they wouldnt fuse as quick.

maybe but, genes already have your height mapped out basically, so even if you can keep estrogen low, genes are still probably going to determine your grand design

but than again, pretty sure growth hormone has been used to help allow kids to reach greater heights
