    my instructor tries to mix it up with some occasional BJJ moves he learned form Luis

    this one young friend of mine decided to get into fighting, so he shopped around and decided to join this actual (kind of redneck) fight club

    Thats pretty lame IMO.

    Luis is a world class instructor.

    TKD is cool. Ive been doing it on and off since i was 10. Doesnt help me much when im fighting to be totally honest.

    Muay Thai, Kempo, and boxing is what stand up is all about IMO.

    you mean MMA fighting?

    what i'm learning is TKD with Muay Thai/kickboxing mixed in. like many these days, my instructor is not so interested in keeping formally in one system but TkD is the basis. years ago i dabbled in kung fu and "kemp ryu ju jitsu". don't you think most people these days believe in mixing it up?

    unless your Japanese living on the island or in some shaolin temple that is.

    Yeah i believe in cross training.

    Not adding things from all sorts of different martial arts and making some hybrid martial art.

    I think train everything. Use everything.

    Ive trained in (this is gonna be long):

    BJJ, Judo, Greco-Roman wrestling, Folk wrestling, Boxing, Muay thai, TKD, Kempo, Sambo, Capoeira, Luta Livre, Krav Maga, British Bare-knuckle Boxing...

    Granted ive only dabbled in most of these, and wasnt very effective in most. But nonetheless ive done them all.

    Right on I want to do my new tatt.... but short on funds the economy is not that good over here in the US so I need to put my goodies on the side to take care of what I really need like a roof and stuff like that.

    It can't be worse than mine. Spain in in major crisis (thanks socialists) and i quit my job last month lol. but im optimistic. I think when ever i decide my sabbatic months are over i'll find a job. I'm not afraind of the +20% unemployement.
