    the man is a freak.
The gripe about his stats is they have not decreased with age as is expected and typical of over 40 players.

congrats to bonds, all the steroids in the world cant make the averag joe hit as many homeruns as this guy, sure the aas helped, but it didnt make him the ball player he is today. as far as we know right now, bonds is probably been "clean" since the whole balco fallout, (i am sure the MLB is watching him closely) and he still broke the record.

What people forget to mention, is that he was hitting all of these HR's against Pitchers who were all geared up as well!!

Funny nobody ever mentions Roger Clemens.... when it is just as obvious as Bonds.

I know being in shape is not required for baseball. I saw a piece of a game the other day (Bonds was playing) and most were chubby. wtf?

Not to mention he had to put up with the media in his life 24 hours a day for the last 5 years and the man didnt break. He just kept doing what he does best. A-rod will probably break his record unless he gets hurt. But the one MLB record that will never be broken in DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak!!
i agree that dimaggio's record won't be broken and cal ripken jr's consecutive game streak will never be touched either.

What are you talking about? Arod didn't just blow up overnight, his transformation was gradual and like plzr said, his stats never went crazy.

Canseco would say his own grandmother was a juicehead if it would get him more publicity.

All professional sports are like this anymore, it is unfortunate.

As has been said by many, steroids are not going to improve hand-eye coordination. They are not going to improve proper swing fundementals. They are not going to improve weight transfer. They are not going to do a lot of things.

I hear arguments about increasing bat speed. Yeah, well, maybe some. But strength does not equate to speed. You might get the bat to speed a little faster (better acceleration) but top speed is not going to significantly increase.

If you REALLY want to look at crutches and cheating from Barry, look at his elbow braces. They help enable a more consistant swing and optimal swing path as well as allow his arms to extend to a straight, locked position consistantly. And anyone who knows baseball knows that the fundementals of the swing I just mentioned will hit you more homeruns than a little bigger muscles.

Look at where he hits the ball with his bat. Right in the sweet spot towards then end where the most speed and power is generated. Show me how steroids improve FUNDAMENTALS.

Screw the naysayers. He is the current homerun king. Deal with it. So he is an asshat and arrogant. He is still the best homerun hitter and deserves some respect for that if nothing at all.
Arod and Griffey Jr. have much of the same build. Neither one of them are the embodiement of strength. Even so, they are both longball hitters. There is much more to driving a ball 400' than strength, those who say otherwise have obviously never played the game. Congrats to Bonds, **** the haters.

Very few in the game(any sport) wish to work this hard anymore, these records are safe.
