update on Mav
I cut and pasted it since she may not know that he is a member here too
David's operation went well. He has experienced some issues, though. What was initially thought to be post trauma symptoms has actually turned out to be some minor brain damage. His current EEG readings do show about 25% less brain activity than before the operation, so that's a pretty big concern for us right now. His speech is slow but the doctors expect for it to improve fairly quickly. His coordination is not too good at all right now, though. He's not walking very well on his own and they're saying that it should improve over time as his motor skills should naturally rebound. There are a lot of unknowns right now but only time will tell the true story.
It's been an up and down rollercoaster these past few days for me being his wife. It's difficult to see David in this condition, but I'm confident that he'll be what he once was in the not so distant future. I was very encouraged upon leaving the hospital yesterday because he whispered in my ear, "They don't know who they're f'ing with." And for those of you that are familiar with David, he never cussses! If anyone has the courage and the determination to regain his life, then it's my husband. Our faith and beliefs will be fully tested in the weeks to come and I'm certain that peace will be reinstored soon.
Thanks,
Mrs. Mavsluva
It's sad, even though we disagreed on some things he still does what he thinks is right
