How long do you have left in the IRR, I'd look into a Marine Corp Reserve program and go acitve reserve and snag up the bonus and stay where you are as opposed to going the Involuntary Recall Route as then you have no choice/no bunus/ just base pay and what ever else might be applicable based on your assigment/marital status.

never had anything lower than a 1st class in my 4 years. its been almost 2yrs since ive been out so my PFT numbers might be wrong.
    perfect score-300
1st class is 230 and up i think

100 crunches in 2min. each crunch is worth 1pt. perfect score-100
20 pullups. each pullup is 5pt. perfect score-100
    18min 3mile(da bitch) every 6sec after 18min you subtract 1pt from 100.

Army PT didn't require the pull ups and we did sit ups instead of crunches, I'd get about a 270 average maxing push ups and the run but I couldn't do the sit ups fast enough b/c I go all the way back and can't seems to do the 3/4 sit ups people were getting away with.

Possibly, although (NOT A SHOT AT THE MARINE CORPS) when I was stationed at Fort Huachuca we had one of those nasty "Division" runs, an the Marine Corps Company that was there all fell out by about 3/4 of the way in, it could be the slower formation run pace that screwed them up but it seemed weird to me.

Unless it was the day after New Year's Eve and all of the Marines were hungover I can promise you that a whole company of Marines would not fall out of a damn formation run unless you guys were going at a 4 min mile pace.

So anyways I called MOBCOM in Kansas City and now I have to report in Oct 1st-3rd for a screening. I guess I will no more after that. Hopefully I don't get orders but if I do I will just have to have a completely positive attitude about it or else that next 12-18 months i going to completely suck.

    RESPECT, Good luck bro.

Not all, I suppose I overstated but a lot did, they were part of a training company of some sort dealing with M.I. so it was a secondary school of some sort so they should've been able to hang and having been stationed with Marines several times after this incident I found it to be very wierd. The pace wasn't fast but rather slow acutally, as I said that could be why they fell out.

Now that I think about it could have also been the elevation there if they were all part of a new trainging cycle.

Yeah elevation will definitely mess with you. I remember when I had to go through cold weather training(f-cking sucked) and we tried to PT a couple of times and you seriously feel like you are the most out of shape person on the planet until you get used to it. When I first got there I would get winded just walking up stairs.

I am not trying to make excuses for those Marines either....it could have just been a nasty company that never PT and then looked like asses in front of the whole battalion.

You will notice differences in some Marines depending on where they are stationed. Like if you go to Okinawa you will almost see no overweight Marines but if you go to Camp Lejeune...lol....it is a whole different f-cking story. Some of those guys look like they could be Navy...lol.

I was always a good runner, until I decided to go for a run when I was at 29 palms. Damn near killed me. My lungs were burning and everything. All the Marines stationed up there are PT champs. Especially when they get stationed in NC, and come down from the mountains.

Man I know exactly what you are saying. I think 29 palms is the hottest place on earth...lol. Especially when you are in all of your gear going through a CAX. I never ever want to do another CAX.

Yes, I know we all signed up for "8 years." Me too, I've got a few couple years left on the original 8, but dude I am more of a civilian than I ever was before. It would not be good for anyone to have me back in a uniform.

So, like you I am facing this possibility as well. I get emails and letter sent to my house in the states asking me to update my information and blah, blah, blah. Fvck that, I ignore that crap.

I have looked into this, since Sept. 11th when they started recalling soldiers on the IRR, not a single one who didn't report has been prosecuted, considered AWOL, or anything. Not one.

So, let's think about this for a moment. You either A: report, get a haircut, uproot your life, start wearing combat boots again and get shipped off to the current quagmire in the desert. Or you, B: Ignore the letter, continue on with your life and absolutely nothing changes.

    Tough decision there bro.
I'll tell my best friend that is on his second tour in Iraq that you got his back and that his 'brother' will be there to help him out!
