    Checking Account

So Im in college, got a nice little part time job making 300 a week.
I am wanting to create a checking account, where I can just use a debit card.
Is there a "best" bank to go to and create an account, or are they all basically the same for this kind of thing?
    Any help/info/advice would be appreciated.
You know, something with little or no fees, no hassle, etc.

    Thanks guys.

my bank doesn't charge me the $2 to use the card inside stores like some bogus banks do- but to avoid that people always say "credit" not debit....but my bank it doesn't matter, and just check to make sure if u overdraft what the penalties are

HSBC, one of the bigest banks in the world. From what ive seen in the UK they are pretty sensible with charges and penalties and have more offers than other banks as to savings and what not.

As ur a student you will qualify for a student account.

Lots of folks use 'em without problem, but they boogered up my account pretty bad; bill collectors kept calling me to pay my BOA credit card, and I had charged the item only 4 days earlier. They did this 3 times (and some other petty annoying stuff) so I cancelled the card and the account.
--Revenge -- I bought a shiny new computer at a store that offered $100 off for opening a store credit card. Turns out the card was sponsored by BOA. I signed up anyway, bought the PC on the new card, and haven't heard from BOA in 2 years. I'm waiting for them to send me a bill so I know where to send the money.

In my experience, BOA not only can't handle my $$$ right, but they can't handle theirs, either.

Use whatever you see the most of and what is most convenient for you. Citizens is good if you have them by you. They'll reimburse your account no matter what the ATM charge is.
