Huge Fire Near Me!!!
I'm in El Cajon California. Nearby Ramona is being evacuated completely, entire city... Plus many more nearby... Firefighters can't do a thing cause the winds are too powerful and this fire is moving fast... I wanna help, like volunteer or something but I can't find anywhere to do it at or a number to call, shit... Anyone else live nearby?

As a professional firefighter I can tell you from experience cops and volunteers get in the way and make a bad situation worse lol. just kidding. ok no I'm not. maybe you can go volunteer for the salvation army just dont eat all the donuts ok theres some hard workin firman that might need one. no seriously I grew up in SD. santee for a year, lemon grove for 2 years and encinitas for 9. Everyone thinks of mostly air support.. .which is a BIG damn help.
I think it's after 3 days, the feds step in to help out.
Another thing that alot of people aren't seeing are the wildland crews on the ground. It's hard in that terrain with all those trees and canyons make it hard as fvck to work. Those trees are 18 hour fuel, big, and there is just no damn place to put a line!
Plus deploying a shelter in an emergency is suicide with those trees all around.
Everything will be cool this weekend, but my friends and I are predicting some flare ups, and maybe some as5hole will start another one elsewhere.
I remember driving on LA freeways and seeing 5 or so burned fields on the SAME side of the free way.. that is to say that the fires were started by someone driving southbound.
It's pathetic someone does this. They destroyed homes, and people have died which makes me REALLY pissed because fire is hot. It's not like getting shot in the face dying instantly. It's a terrible process, being burned alive.

HOESTLY, if you wantto help.. the red cross is in bigtime need of blood since they have lost hundreds, if not thousands, of units of blood since they are missing all the blood drives in the area. I regularly volunteer with tthe ARC and will be giving blood asap. I urge everyone EVERYwhere to go and give blood at your earliest conveineice. it really does make a difference.
3 times ago when I gave blood, I was hit by a semi truck THE NEXT DAY and needed 3-4 units of blood to save me.. it was CRAZY,... I was lating there going in for a brain scan and I came to and yeled, "OHH nOOO!!" and the medics and nurses were trying to calm me down.. I continued, "no, I just gave blood YESTERDAY and I guess I'll be needing that all back now!"
