just wanted to post an update for everything thats been going on lately.
My dad had lymph node biopsys that were tested and came out negative, which was a nice suprise.
Following the lymph removal he ended up getting a serious infection that spread from his groin down to his knee which resulted in a pretty big scare with him passing out at work and having to go to the ER. He spent 12 days in the hospital on antibiotics.
Today both my parents flew down to Vancouver to see the cancer specialist, it was supposed to be a 1 day trip but upon seeing my dads cancer, the doctor admitted him immediately, his cancer is very advanced and much worse than initially thought.
He will have the area amputated (his heel) and will have an agressive chemo therapy program upon completion of surgery. The doctor said that the cancer has more than a 50% chance of reoccuring and that his life may be over in several years.
I dont need any more 'condolances' and im very appreciate of your guys' support, i just figured i'd give an update as kind of a journal/general way for me to post my feelings and share with others who may have experienced the same thing.
anyways, thats my rant.

my mother got breast cancer at 49. be sure to watch what these doctors do very closely. and try to record it. my mom got rid of her breast cancer, they then prescribed her something that gave her a stroke, misdiagnosed as cells eating her brain stem. then, another stroke a few months later and misdiagnosed as Multiple schlerosis.
these misdiagnoses has left my mom bed ridden for the rest of her life, and when we sent the mri's in to 6 DIFFERANT ****ING DOCTORS they said it was plain as day that it was a stroke and if the stupid ass doc had diagnosed her right she wouldnt be debilitated for the rest of her life. she cant read, right, hardly talk, cant walk, and to top it off, they turned her into a valium addict.
So please watch what these guys do, some docs are just incapable and if i could find that doc that messed up my mother i would ****ing kill him. if we dont win this lawsuite, i will.

My Dad went through Chemotherapy every week for half a year, for Advanced Lymphoma. I took every Friday off from work to take him to the hospital and hang out with him; bring him lunch from the cafeteria, watch the news together, discuss business and politics... It was the most rewarding time I've ever spent with him. He's been Cancer-free for almost three years, and every day is a gift; a bonus.
No matter what your dad's prognosis, make this time together count. I didn't want to look back years from now, sitting in my office, wishing I could have a single day back to spend with my father.

well, since this was bumped up i'll give a little update.
surgery was done in february, went pretty well. dad had a whole new muscle area grafted on his heel to replace the area that was cut off.
he's had to take it easy for about 2 months now (no walking without crutches etc) but the swelling is almost gone now and hes been walking without crutches.
he goes back to his job in a week or so, so for now everything seems to be going well.
thanks to everyone for their support through this.
