I might have to go to one. I got sciatica a few weeks ago and it's preventing me from lifting heavy.

I've been going to one since a couple days after my birth...my dad is one. Always go to one recommended by someone else, not the yellow pages. Also do research on the most accredited schools so you can ask your Chiropractor where he went.

I heard of one bodybuilder in the 90's who went to a chiropractor and they actually broke his back. Paralyzed for the rest of his life from the waist down.

I was doing that until I asked him about preventive stretching. He looked at me funny like he didn't want me lose me as a client. He did show me the specific stretches for the muscle causing my problems and now I don't have to go any more.
Funny thing is that were the pain was felt was caused by muscle not that close to the pain site. For example lower back was caused by my hamstrings.

just make sure you do your research on who you go to. I ****ed up my back went a doctor they did nothing couldn't walk or sleep and they gave me ib profen for the pain so I went to the cyro a couple days later popped it felt 10 times better. But my dad a while back went to one provided by his doctor and messed him up worse had to have back surgey

chances are your dad already had disc herniations or disc bulges. the MD sent him to the chiro as a last resort to avoid surgery if possible.conservative care first. the adjustment just aggravated the already underlying condition that already existed. i am willing to bet my house he needed the surgery before the chiro. did they fuse vertebrae together?

preventive stretching is a myth. some people swear it works but the truth is you can stretch all you want and still hurt yourself. i have done it at least 5 times in my life. stretching can not hurt. but it no way it guarantee's you wont get hurt or it will resolve back pain

this would be news to me. you cant break someone's neck when adjusting them. what you see in movies and tv when people twist someones neck and break it is near impossible to do. the ammt of force put into a neck adjustment is minimal. there is not much rotation put into it. it is more of a lateral movement. now if someone had sclerotic vertebral arteries and they got adjusted, they could have a stroke. the chance and percentage of this is so minimal you have a better chance of a jet landing your living room. there are simple ortho tests that can be done to see if you are in this category. this would most likely be seen in the geriatric community and not young people.
