I'm Fuuuucked
I just got 3 traffic ticks on my bike this weekend.
The cop clocked my buddy and pulled him over. So i pulled over to wait for im and the cop came over to me and gave my the same 3 ticks he got.
110mph in a 65
reckless driving
Tail gating
I am getting totally ****ed because the cop never clocked me are saw me because i was ahead of him by like 1/3 of a mile. I know he never sew me for a fact because i was doing 175mph. I only slowed up to see were my buddy was.
So today i meet with a lawyer. I was told that he can help me out and get me only like 4 point out of the 15. But he wants an arm and a leg to retain him.
Im fuuucked.

Dont get a lawyer just go yourself go too court and represent yourself.. Tell them the story
-
Bro i have no choice. The are a total 15 points. The judge will yank my dl on the spot for a year. It not like the cop is going to sit there and tell the truth. Im sure he will lie to support his bull shit report. And when it comes to his word vs mine im sure the judge will believe him over me. Or not even believe him but back and support his clams.

Wow that sucks. I was riding with a bunch of guys from bike night and we picked up a highway patrol, about half the guys stopped, I said hell with it and cruised on home. The next week the guys that got ticketed were pissed that I didn't stop too. Now these weren't friends of mine, just riding acquaintances, I guess they were just mad that I didn't get ticketed too. I couldn't believe as many stopped as did. There were about a dozen of us and I think half of them stopped and all got ticketed.

Ya, you are screwed on this. A guy I lived with in college was in the same situation with his bike. Needless to say he had to pay a butt load to get the lawyer to lower the charges. You are, unfortuantely, guilty by being there. The cop may not have seen you, but he knows you were doing the same since you were stoped along with your friend. It def sucks, I know, but the courts will go by the officers word. It will suck even more if you are in a small municipality with a judge who has been on the bench for a billion years and doesn't do favors. My friend still got his balls busted by the judge since she didn't like motorcycles or his 'disregard' for safety.

i agree...if he cantprove you were speeding..then he cant ticket you....yes cops are trained to guess speeds however they cant write a ticket based on their guess. Good luck with that and damnt be careful lol, a lot worse could have happened at that speed. I mean i never go over 150 haha

with all due respect bro, if you were driving 175 mph then you deserve to lose your license, you're obviously a danger to others and yourself, no matter how much experience you have riding. JMHO, probably not what you wanna hear.

I'm not a lawyer but I don't think those charges will stick. I can't see how you pulling over is guilt by association. It's going to come down to what exactly the cop said to you. If your friend told the cop you were his friend and were riding with each other (for what ever reason) and the cop gave you tickets because of that, the cop can't use that in a court, that's hearsay and inadmissible.
-
When it comes to fighting the ticket like everyone is telling you to do, your screwed. Who do you think the judge is going to believe, a police officer or some guy flying around on a sportsbike endangering other citizens ?
You have two options:
1) Man up, pay the fines and jump through the hoops
2) Get a lawyer
Case closed.

You should go to court telling them that you were ahead of him and slowed down for him to catch up and u saw him getting pulled over behind you and you stopped. Just saying your getting a ticket because the cop says you had to be going the same speed because you stopped to wait for your friend. If you were not traveling together and he didnt see both bikes or clock you both and if you say you were ahead of him how can he prove in anyway that you were also going the same speed. How can he explain that if you were not "together" when he pulled ur friend over?

That sucks Gssxr, sorry to hear.
Surely they cant prosecute without evidence?
Thats the way it is here in the UK.
They need a Speed gun reading, or a video, or a 2nd police offcer to back them up, or no leg for them to stand on.

fight it for sure. but the guys are right, the lawyer might be the only way. i'm the first to avoid lawyers, most of the time they're a waste of money, but in this case the judge might not even listen to you without one. on the positive side, these 3 tickets all came from a single incident. so you might be able to skate on some of the heat

Fight it. Go to court you're self and I've done it alot of times. Most of the time its really just luck. Tell the court that you left about a minute before you're friend and he was suppose to catch up to you since he was going to make a cell-phone call. Since he didn't catch up with you then you decided to pull over and wait for him. Say " I wasn't ever riding my bike, he didn't scan me with his gun or anything so how can he say I was riding at ? mph , I wan't justice done today." lol

Fuk bro that really sucks the same thing happen to me and my roomate but I stopped far enough back so that they could drive up to me cuz I don't exactly have insurance on my bike. But I would definately get a lawyer and when you go to court ask to the record from the last time radar gun was calibrated for that particular area and google some other ways to get out of speeding tickets. And unfortunately your gonna have to go into court and kiss some a$$

you are truly a natural BS'r...lol.... You are a snake..... ha! don't take offense you just crack me up because you already had it all planned out... bet you do that to your girl too....lol. I am playing with you in good humor.
Gsxxr, I suggest the lawyer for sure... you will get out of it all... or you can run with firmechicano's advice which is the second best next to a lawyer...lol. thing about this is don't think people are dumb... especially court systems... they even get more mad when you try and insult their intelligence... some judges will throw the book at you because you don't want to pay into the system and get a lawyer....

Get the Lawyer, Don't screw around with this one. Your Lawyer can atleast get some of the charges dropped if not all of them.

First of all where did he say his friend was clocked at 150? Secondly, obviously he was speeding but the point is he was not clocked speeding. The cop has no proof at all how fast he was going so how can he be ticketed for the same things as his friend just because he pulled over and waited for his friend.
My guess is this cant hold up in court if there is no proof to how fast you were going. Id go challenge it and take the chance.

Cops don't need to use radar guns to ticket folks for speeding, I'm not going to argue that fact with a bunch of liberals, I can't win...fact of the matter is don't do the crime if ya can't do the time
people need to stop whining when they get in trouble doing something that they damn well know they shouldn't be doing, he knew what the consequences were, so be a man and face the music, everyone needs to quit giving this guy ideas on how to squirm his way outta this one...I'll give ya some REAL advice
Get an F'in lawyer, wear a nice suit, and be sure to say "yes sir" "no sir"
sorry guys , I'm on a rant

I did get a lawyer and he all ready went and requested the video tape. We will determine what direction to take after reviewing it.

One of the problem with the cops are that ir is no longer serve and protect. Its a money making business for the towns revenue.
